Yeah and what do you think N2O is going to do if your fuel tank does go up. it is an oxidising agent, when you add oxygen to a fire you get an explosion. NOS delivers horsepower at the press of a button, its not a minor power up like an exhaust or something, you can have an extra 100hp (or whatever) within a second or so, hardly the best thing for street use where there are other cars, pedestrians, dogs, kids - anything can happen. A mate of mine had a gemi with a piazza turbo driveline, engine made about 300bhp and he had a 70hp NOS fogger set up. He used it on the street and the thing was downright scary when he used the N2O. Just my personal opinion, i wouldnt use it on the street, maybe at the track but definately not on the street.
i was basically thinking the way 87calais was i mean fair enough about superchargers turbos etc. but it aint like having an instant 100hp at the press of a button like with nos.
p.s- if im thinking this way cause i dont know exactly what its like when nos comes on its cause ive never been in a car with nos before.
Sure NOS is dangerous but seriously if i was in my VL id much rather have a bottle of NOS in the boot rather that a full tank of LPG whitch i belive is far more deadly that NOS
NOS is for cheaters. If you have a turbo, be prepared to suffer turbo lag off the line. This is crap using it just to get of the line, you may as well use it all the way to the END of the line. Your car should still be listed as using NOS if you choose to do this.
Top points to those 9sec VLT's that DON'T use NOS at all.
And like I've said before if you can't deal with it, buy a V8.
not trying to contradict what ur all saying... but if u have an in cabin adjustable boost switch, with ur all day setting at say 10 psi, and ur making 10hp for every extra pound of boost (aparently the going rate ) and if ur high setting is set at 20 psi, doesnt that mean that u have 100hp at the flick of a switch? just a thought. As vin diesl said " winning is winning" hahaha. i hate that movie :!: . NOS is just another mod that gets u to the finish line quicker, just dont use it on the street. peace. jeffo
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
ROFL LMAO.. the dog just got back from the vet.. shes stoned as a tit.
Seems she wont let anyone cut her nails.. i think she just likes getting bent on what ever it is they give them... her eyes are soooooo red..
NOS = laughing gas. Gimme a snort. Lighten up guys. WOW
NOS I believe is for professionals only, you wouldnt catch me using it anywhere near the street. Most people that use this forum are like under 25 and are inexperienced drivers. Therefore probably shouldnt even be driving turbo'd vl's.
Im 28 and have never had an accident yet (touch wood). Ive had a few near misses when ive been daydreaming and its just this little lapse in concentration that can be the difference between making it through to the end of the day or not.
So lets say your being a **** on the street and a something or other sides up to you... revs its poxy little rotisserie, you rev your turbo six. Lights go green, FLOOR IT. He pulls away from you, and you notice that hes got a NOS sticker on his rear window somewhere.. Flames out of this pipes. All of a sudden theres a loud bang and a flash from his engine bay. His engine is destroyed.. Arent you glad you didnt have NOS?
I say NOS is all good! Not only does it have the ability to deliver instant power say 50hp shot = Extra 50hp, but the cooling effects of nitrous may also aid in the motor making even more power.
As for keeping things legal on the street, Come on people we own vl turbo's I think its a fair comment in saying
"Apparently no matter what we do to them they were never street legal in the first place (sarcasm)"
Anyways why is the driver of a car using nitrous on the street and making around 400 brake horse power an idiot. Whilst the guy next to him could be making power in the vacinity of 600-800 brake horse power without nitrous and we wont be phased. Sure the guy not using the bottle has made a greater achievement but lets be serious which one do you think is more dangerous.
I believe we all get to make decisions and we have to live with the consequences of those decisions. You wana use nitrous on the street then go right ahead.
This whole thread is a pisser....dr00: Do you think all Nitrous Oxide solenoid activating switches/buttons are located on the steering wheel? If you even have a close look it is actually a horn button on all "race" steering wheels...Making up for the loss of the centre horn button...
N20 is quite stupid on the street...Anyone ever hear about the guy that left his bottle warmers on for a little too long? His car was sitting in his garage, it minced every panel of it...and sent the bonnet through the garage door..
Personally i don't see why you need N20 on the street?..All i see is someone coming round a corner activating the solenoid and the ass kicks out and you use your imagination from there..If you want Nitrous only use it for the track...Don't create another problem on our roads that genuine enthusiasts are ever trying to save from defect stations and meeting place lockdowns and be able to have the ability to drive a performance car freely...
I don't agree with N20 on the street....Fair enough if you have it set-up for track use and you take the bottle out when not on the track...That's fine with me..But if you go round with N20 pumping through your engine on the street being fooli sik that's when i don't agree..
It's not needed on the street for any reason...spend that 1.5-3g's on a turbo set-up or something...
Roy..
