Isn't the GTS300 a limited edition of 100?? And if the GT is only limited by the amount of orders they are getting, which I expect to be huge, could explain why they will be a little cheaper.

If you want to spend 100k on a VL by all means go for it, but arh why would you? (i know the answer, so dont bother writing it, your all obssessed freaks! hehe) I dont think the GTS300 is a limited series, may have been back in the good ole VT days, but im sure theres a fark load of VX GTS300's out and about. BTW, id rather have an australia designed car, with aussie designed engine, than a european copied car, with plastic bits put on and an american engine chucked in, any day of the week :P

It's so funny how people think Ford are **** - some people are clueless. Since the XA Phase 4, Ford haven't spent any money on their eights. This was Ford's biggest mistake - they thought the muscle era was over when the Phase 4 was put to an end. So, from then on Ford spent their research on the sixes. Which is one reason why Ford's Six is so far ahead of Holdens (Buick) today. Holden's strong hold of the market began with the VT. The VT was the first commodore ever to sell more then the Falcon. Both Ford and Holden took a big risk with the VT and AU - the AU failed, and the VT boomed. Majority of the VT's success was in series 2, with the GEN III. This was Holden getting back into the muscle scene. Ford didn't make any swift moves to try and match the power of the GEN III. The success of the VT was also helped by the AU Falcon. Ford made the mistake of thinking the Australian market would like the modernish styled look - Ford were wrong. Now we're with the BA, where Ford have finally realised they need some performance. So Ford decides to spend money on a V8, and a Turbo 6. The outcome is a 260KW V8, and a 240KW Turbo 6 with almost endless amount of potential. Do people honestly think Ford are ****? They are the biggest Motor Company in the world, you really think the Holden would continue it's domination? Ha! Ford have the money, the experience and the expertise that Holden will never have. So unless you're a little child, I'd certainly get my facts right before I start talking **** about what's ****, and what isn't. Also, just a reminder to all those VL drivers - VL's may go fast, but that's no thanks to Holden. (Watch all the little kids reply back with abuse)

Actually, from what I've read and understand thus far, the BA turbo is pretty much designed to run at the current level of boost, therefore limiting its "potential" somewhat. Dont get me wrong, I could be reading a lot of **** (after all, it did come off these forums j/k) but I wouldnt call the fairly low psi of what Id imagine the BA to be running, plus its weight (sure, lots of kW, but a decent weight as well) to be too "endless"... From what I have read, If the BA isn't a success, it will be the last locally made Ford, because Ford in the US hasn't got the resources anymore. The world economy is not in a good condition at the moment if you haven't noticed and Ford can't go on loosing money for ever. This is why they have had staff cuts in the US, given Eddie Irvine, Pedro DeLa Rosa and Nikki Lauda the boot, etc, etc...

MurderCity: The Ford is limited to 6psi thru the ECU, any external tampering of the boost control will increase boost, but the fuel system will no compensate and therefore after a while pop goes the engine, car reports the increase of boost to its memory banks, you go in to get engine fixed under warranty, sorry mate no can do you voided your warranty by uping the boost, so its your problem now, you come up with the cash we fix. BUT... just like the GEN3 the ECU will be cracked sooner or later, and fuel maps will get changed, someone will trick the ECU to think nothing has changed etc etc. So the potential of the XR6t is as deep as you wallet. ^Mobil_HRT^: Ford australia wont be killed off if the BA is not a success, why would they invest 500million into a car if they knew they might not come thru with the goods, whos going to pay that bill off if BA dies? think about it. Also they put in a **** load of money to the R7 project which i hear is a go, and also the 4WD falcon gizmo i hear is a go. WHY spend money on things when your going to be shut down. Ford US lends Ford AU money, but Ford AU is otherwise independant from the US side of things. I also heard for the first time in ages Ford AU either made or profit last year, or came very ****en close to making a profit. If the current sales of the BA are anything to go bye, then ford AU has a winner, and will definately be making a profit this financial year. BA gets car of the year and NRMA award, all the dumb holden fans will think **** ford must be better than holden, i'll go buy one of em. Thats how it works, advertising and winning awards will pursade people into buying a car. VY has nothing to date apart from a BS marketing campaign from the VT/X range that clouded stupid peoples minds, so people think holden is good... (I also wait for comments little kids replys  )

But if they were going to post a profit this year they have done all they can. I would be suprised if they did not. Ford US and Chev US are both struggling to make a profit too. It's an uncertain time in US and world markets for both companies. CarsMelbourne - you the man Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
