Guys i was too young to appreciate it. But i reccon the all time great victory would have had to be 1990. Alan Grice in his walkinshaw. one against those R32s! good effort i say.

If you want to watch homologation racing, there is nations cup, gtp etc. They will all be racing at bathurst in november for a 24 hour race. Although this is now becomming a control category because some manufacturers make specials just to go out and win........ sounds like the good ole group a days........ Also, I don't think a few of you realise, they don't use a 350 or 351 block, they use 5litre blocks.

vlt06, it is not called the 5 litre category for nothing!! The Gen III is not used in any holden shelled car. The majority of the holden shelled cars are CHEV, and wait for it, they all use FORD 9 Inch Diffs!!! The reason Holden cars are using Chev engines, is because the Aussie built cast iron blocked 5 litres couldn't keep up with anything Ford had on the race track. Now you can argue "holden holden holden" till you are blue in the face, but you can not argue with fact! Now I like holden, and I like Ford, but Holden needed outside help to keep up with what Ford had in '97.

Jordan, they were using the Chev blocks well before 97, and correct me if i'm wrong, but the powers that be actually made it extreamly hard to use the holden block and win by imposing further rev restrictions because a certain Larry Perkins found a loophole in the rule book where if he ran his old walkinshaw, it was not limited to the crurrent 6500 rev limit. Yes Holden use ford 9" diff's, why woudln't they?? Everyone uses Holinger boxes for exactly the same reason, they last, I'm sure if Holden needed to, they could design a diff, but what would be the point, you have one there that the category specifies you have to use, why not use it?? Also have we all forgotten that Holden, Chev, Opel and Vauxhall all fit under the GM banner?? Now Holden using a Chev block is no different from Ford using the American equivilent either. I think you will find that the block in each Ford out there isn't Australian, but American.
