RIX-PSI 200kW where? Try looking on SAU, there are lots of threads on how to get various amounts of power.
I think final drive on R32 gtst's is 4.363. A 3.9 diff is only 88% of this. If you want 12% more torque at the wheels everywhere in the rev range, change the diff ratio.
There are some pretty ordinary arguments going on here from both sides. Lots of people are quoting peak power and torque figures. Totally meaningless as neither describes the way in which power is delivered. The 'best' power/torque profile is subjective, it varies from person to person. Therefore we can only ever argue opinions of which one is better for any given purpose. There are a lot of opinions in this thread that are being touted as fact.
One thing that is completely meaningless is this:
Quote:
You could have 1000hp and 10 newton meters of torque and you will go no where.
You could also have 1000hp and 10nm torque and go some where very quickly. It proves nothing and is misleading.

One point about this motor having to be driven hard to get peak power. It suits me as driving hard would be the only time I require peak power. Personally I love that I can drive off boost and enjoy the fuel economy it offers.
And no torque? Change your diff

Rb25 is the way to go, Rip out the old Rb30 single cam 16 valve crap,

Just a quick point, if you are goin to undertake this conversion, do yourself a favour and put in a selt of 4.11 diff gears it makes it 100% better to drive than the 3.45, also I have just previously ran a 9.808 over the 1/8th mile in mine, with a stock engine with a fmic, 3" exhaust and 14psi boost
RIX-PSI - To get 200RWKW, best idea is to get a HKS GT2530, highmount and a Apexi PowerFC, this is what I will be getting later this year and from what i have read is good for 230- 240 RWKW

got no problems wit the rb20's but, i wouldnt consider it a VL without the RB30, and if your looking for 1/4 mile times to be honest ive hardly seen any vl's with rb20's running challanging times for the rb30's then again i might be looking in all the wrong places!

the Nisssan Rb20 (except the single cammers we sent to NZ) is the most tuneable motor out.Yes 2.0l, but that means revvy which means boost. The vl is a lighter body than the R32, and acctually has a bigger "parts bin" ranging from the VB Commy to VR and also R31/2/3/4 and some other GM and BMW cars.
It is similar in design to the RB26DETT and RB30 series 2 blocks. but like the holden 253 compared to 308/304 blocks, has thicker bore walls. The head is some what the same but dont remove too much metal, the ports on the rb20det are straight just open em a bit.

wtf are you talking about? Are you saying to go the RB25 cos its got a twin cam?
Btw rb30 engines have 12 valves
Also they are a nissan engine, not a 95 kw holden motor

this what i beleive that the rb20 can have very quick exceleration when set up right as the mods listed above. but like every engine theres only so much you can get out of it which i don`t think anyone on here has that much money to get it to the point where we can`t get anything more from there engine. best way to get power is the good old power to weight ratio but then there is the cheapest way to get power.

so assuming evey one wants most power for least money rb30 would be cheapest but if our looking for huge power 25 have more pottential.

Juice comes in 3l now too. Actually I've seen juice and water in varying sizes from 300ml up to 5 litres or so. Pretty sure you can get a 3l milk too.
