VY - pretty ordinary BA - slightly better than VY (not much) I will buy a new car when holden re-release the VL calais turbo - can you imagine buying a brand new VL *drool* - that would do me, and lucky for us they probably couldn't get RB30's anymore so they would have to fit RB25's or 26's *DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOL* oh well its nice to dream

Well I reckon the VY looks ****, VX's are a nice shape, and then they go and change it again.... just like the VL shape (mad), then the crappy VN. The VY looks like like a bloody lancer rice mobile from the back this is not good for Holden... not good at all. I think I'll be voting for the Turbo Ford Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

After doing my research, it would appear Holden have gone very Euro styling with this Commodore model. The Steering wheel that everone so hates, is a direct copy of the Barina steering wheel (i know from almost buying a barina), and its really not that attractive in photo's but when you see it, and actually use it, you will see its not too bad. As for the body styling, the boot takes on the style of Mercedes C Class rear lights, with the V shaped boot style of an E36 BMW 3 Series. The front uses a similar shape to the current model Volkswagon Passat. It would appear that maybe Holden are trying to appeal to a market more interested in the Euro models. Maybe it will work, only sales will tell. But if this forum is anything to go by, its not looking promising for Holden sales. In saying that we all don't like it though, we are being a bit hasty as i don't think anyone here has seen one in the metal. I know personally i loved the look of the Lancer in photos and so on, but the practicallity of the car isn't the best. (No offense to Alpine here). You also have to remember that 90% of use here are dedicated and loyal supporters of a 14 to 16 year old car, with 14 to 16 year old body styling and principals. I guess what i'm trying to say is, lets wait untill they hit the roads and we've had the chance to sit in it and drive it before we do what seem so common on this forum, and that is bag the **** out of something that takes a step off centre of our own personal beleifs. Anyway i'm done.... Personally, love the new shape.

The more pictures I see of the VY, the more i grow not to like it. The front looks like a big Camry, the boot looks like a big Astra, and the tail lights look like Mitsubithi Lancer items. Where as the middle of the car, like doors and so, look like a VT/VX Commodore. The squareish headlights are a step backwards from teh VT/X rounded ones, and the grove in the bumper bar for the lights looks BA XR6/8'ish. I truly believe that Ford finally have a better car in terms of looks that Holden at the moment, lets see if the public think so, and turn the sales figures around! *Death stares in Old Golds direction* But its growing on me.... like i've seen un-touched images of it from QLD 500 now and the SS doesn't look too bad. My brothers mates old man is a tow truck driver and he's had to tow some promo ones around... said they look nice.

It seems it is growing on everyone The first time I saw the back of it, I didn't think much, but the more I look, the more I like. I think once you start seeing them on the road, they are going to look heaps better, and are going to make the vt's look very old, the vt's are even looking tired compared to the vx's imo and theres bugger all diff between those two. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
