haha no, i would call there 9 second machine a drag car. which is what monster tachos were made for... racing... on the drag strip. in manual cars. im sure the race cars dont put tachos on for looks...

What about an auto with a quick shift kit? Would the rice police allow me to use a guage on that, or will I recieve glares from knobs?

dont most monster tachos read up to about 10 or 12 thousand rpm? i could understnad that in a big ported rotary that uses this rev range but wat the hell is the need for that in a car which doesnt go past 6000rpm?

8000 for the usual ones, allthough 10000rpm ones are more common in manufacture these days

I think they're are a bit useless, but it's all part of modifying stuff I guess... those 17" mags don't exactly do much either on most cars Personally I wouldn't waste my money on one though hehe - but it's good to have a tacho, but it doesn't have to be 5 foot wide to see it. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i can understand buying a tacho for your car if your dash doesnt have one from factory. but unless youve seriously modified your engine its not going to be revving that much harder that u need it to go to 10000rpm

You don't even need that whole thing period. My bro's car just has an Autometer blue Shift Lite screwed neatly on top of the steering column and does it's job of indicating sweetly without having that huge round tacho constantly breaking off it's mount
