03-09-02, 19:40 GMT+10#21 Stockvlt has hit the nail on the head, they go by factory power.
If you are pulled over in your VLT with 450kw they can't just say hang on thats got 450kw is not legal, so as cops do they will find other **** and do you for that instead.

06-09-02, 17:15 GMT+10#22 I don't know if its still true.....
You can drive a VLT (150kw) on your p's yet you can't drive a VL 5lt (130kw or whatever)....... the rules are stupid!

06-09-02, 17:33 GMT+10#23 If you are still unsure, all legislation (law) is on the net, do a search for "vehicle legislation" or something like that and so should be in the right direction.. Im sure it wont be that hard to find and its easy enough to understand..

22-09-02, 20:40 GMT+10#27 Well i know this thread is kinda old but i only just joined the site an thought i'd rub it in. In the ACT you can get your L's at 15, 9 months and can drive the posted speed limit anywhere. Then when you get your P's you have 4 points then 6months later you can do a P's off course so you get 4 more points and no longer have to display P plates. So at 17 1/2, i have 8 points and legally no longer display P plates. We can also drive any car we want, no limit on power

03-12-02, 19:32 GMT+10#30 In Victoria P platers aren't allowed to drive a VN 5 liter. Thats what i was told, by the cop that booked me. Its a $105 fine, with no loss of points.
