Sorry once again, but fordforums is actually affiliated with ford australia, and has internal links and personal links with Geoff Polites. Several of the well respected users who i will add are moderators know geoff personally, from doing business with him, and purchasing modyifing cars that you can and will only ever dream about owning. Unlike the forums you may visit, people behind nicknames are the actual person they say they are, vehicles of which they own are posted, with photos of the persons, and they pretty much know one another, becuase it is also linked to many tickford clubs of the eastern states. This forum encompass's most parts of the business ford, being the US division, the australians, and also european departments. It has grown an enormous amount since its creation, has a huge global following, and has well mannered, well educated users of all backgrounds. Like other forums it does have its bull**** posters who can only bag and/or dream to own the type of vehicle, or accessory, or what ever it may be. All i can say to you Mr Typhoon, whom ever you may be, take a long hard look at yourself, and you may understand that you dont know everything in this world, and that you should take other peoples knowledge into account, because maybe, just maybe they might know something more than you do, and you for once will learn something new. But from what i have seen here, you must know everything about every car manufacturer and every forum in this universe, that what i say here is second hand news to you, so why bother even reading my petty little words that must be full of ****e, coz frankly i know NOTHING

hey south mate hows it goin?? yeh i reckon the new falcons gonna give the commo a good run for its money. Especially if the turbos as good as ive heard it to be!! Might be the new vl turbo of the future :P wots this bull**** about pulling the plug on aussie ford. As if they're gonna cut funding from a company thats been in this country for over 50 years because of one dodgy model. I realise that holden have been outselling ford for a while but im sure ford have held their own in the sales department.

Well I'll take your word, South over Mr. Typhoon's any day Ford may not be in the most healthy financial position but they certainly will be in trouble if the BA doesn't do well. I don't know if they'll dissapear, but I seriously doubt it. Their new products line certainly does look like it has the goods, though. Holden are unlikely to have anything new to offer for a while. Look at how long they had the 308... And as for mitsubishi keeping Holden honest... get real. like V8/power muscle car people are going to start buying rice over night because ford go down... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Wel, I guess you neanderthals who measure a car's ability by how much grunt it has wouldn't understand things like build quality, NVH levels etc..things Mitsubishi ****s all over Ford/Holden with. Have you driven a Magna lately? Grunt doesn't always come from cubic inches. They will hold their own against similar models from other maunfacturers. How many V8's do Ford?Holden sell? Not many. And Mitsubishi is a rice car? That makes Ford/ Holden rice too..as the Magna is totally Australian designed and built. Ford/Holden also have their parent companies overseas...And if the Magna is such a crap car, why were they were exporting them long before Holden decided to try that with the Commodore. Ford have been in financial trouble for several years, they are a publicly listed company, and therefore, they release an annual report. Go read it sometime(in fact, go read the last 10) I guess you also haven't seen/read all the interviews over the past few years with Ford US executives..and I guess you also didn't know that because of their poor performance, everything Ford Australia does now has to be approved by the US....they stuffed up too many times. A company's history and how long it has been in a market has NOTHING to do with profits and losses....if it's not turning a profit for many years, you stop the bleeding and wind it up. For god's sake, don't start your own business. You guys crack me up....you forget anything that happened more than 2 years ago, and have this pathetic brand loyalty to US companies...

Yes Ford Australia has been at a loss for several years, it all goes back from the early 80s when they dropped the V8, and then again in the late 80s when the EA came out with a dud engine. But hey holden was much much closer to shutting up shop after the VK. They wasted all there money on designing the 3.3L and had no money to spend on a new unleaded engine, but hey they pulled through and look at there sucess now, there exports have gone through the roof now, and good on them. But if they want to improve sales, they need to improve the car, the paints they use are ****, the build quality in general is poor, the handling of the cars is poor, and the braking system has a few problems also. Not to say that ford doesnt have problems either, but not as extensive as the holdens poor build quality. Holden have advertisement, and a good general public backing for them to be able to slip there standards a bit, and no one will notice. Anyhow, mitsubishi or toyota keep holden honest when/if ford flops, hahahaha! that'll be the day. Holden focus on outright power, mitsu and toy focus on economy family moving cars. How will they keep one another honest and successful? Use your brain *note* im hungover as ****, so if this isnt sounding to good a english, then tough titties

one quick word WORLD FORD that is how ford operate, with it having different divisions being europe, US, Aus, but it is one whole body, if one division has losses the other takes it up, that is why ford will stay, the closest manufacturer to leave Aussy soil is Mitsubishi, with all there cars having to be imported.

ummm. poor Build quality..... lets just say I have been through Holden at Elizabeth a number of times and know over 10 people that work there... Build quality is pretty bloody tight now...... specially since they are exporting ... and doing so against cars such as BMW's in Saudi Arabia for example....... well iof ford and holden dont build quality cars... who does.... BMW Mercedes... the old saying applies... You get what u pay for !!!! Mitsubishi is gaining alot of ground now I think.... and with this latest ford range we will see if they lift their standard aswell.... but I guess we the consumer are the ones who win!!! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

very valid points there calaisinsa, but quality is improved because there exporting, does that mean australians dont give a toss about quality, whatever goes, just slap it together, and us you beaut aussie will be happy with it. But for the rest of the world to be happy with our products, then we must build everything perfect. Im only taking the piss now, i know they have lifted there game, but the amount of reports that i have heard, not only on fordforums.com and ls1 forums about faulty engines, and faulty cars in general, one comes to mind, a brand spanker VX R8, ****test car the man had ever owned, and HSV didnt seem to care about helping him, even tho it was new and under warranty, but falling apart. Makes you wonder do i 'just want one'. Anyhow enough rambling, lets all have a group hug, and be done with this topic, bring it on ford, show me what you can do. Holden lift your game, mitsu, bring out a stonker of a rwd V8, and toyota, **** off back to japan with your very old designs, but bring on all that lovely technology hehehe oh, one last thing, please dont disgrace the BMW name, by saying the holden commodore is in the same market with BMW. You cant possibly compare a smooth refined 3 series with an executive, a 5 series with a calais, and a 7 series with a grange. No way in hell do holden come close to BMW in that market. They are very different vehicles, in very different classes. Its comparing apples with grapes. Apples are the common folks fruit, and grapes are the rich stylish upper market person. (lesson: grapes were once considered a luxury, and common folk would not be able to afford such things, that we as a whole society can enjoy)

We have a VX Commodore an we are pretty happy with it. It is also the overall quality fo the cars too,I have heard of an AVIS car hire company who ditched Ford because most of their AU's were in the workshop 90 per cent of the time, they trialed the VX Commodore with only one being returned with a faulty alternator,so the company chose Holden over Ford. As for the Chev motor I think it had been mentioned that some people just went out on a mad headrush & started thrashing the crap out of the 5.7 litre Commodore whilst still new, causing engine parts such as bearings to flog out, also a revised oil pickup pipe fixed a lot of the gen III LS1 problems also. As for bagging Holden about "wasting money" on fuel injecting a 202,they did it to "save" money as they coudn't really afford the Nissan motor,it was forced upon them by the EPA & governments, and as a matter of fact, the VK pulled Holden out of the crap slightly with the VK as the VB-VH weren't great successes financially. The VL was as far as I can recall never even thought of,it was the VN Commodore which they were designing back in 1983 which they planned either to have 1 - a Jaguar motor,2- a Buick V6 3 - Nissan RB30,the RB30 was decided upon way back then behind closed doors for its cost, when it came close to the VN's projected release time in 1985,it wasn't ready so the VL was prepared as a stop gap model to fill the void,it was then the recipient of the RB30. It was only the rising value of the yen which ceased the fitment of the Nissan 3 litre as it would've doubled the cost & sent Holden bankrupt, despite Holden making prototypes of the Vn with the rb30 fitted,so the next best engine was sourced, the Buick V6 as it was cheaper & the vN was a excellent turnaround for Holden.
