that pic is not the Max Ellery one I'm talking about. Ive got both and the better one has a little pic of the walky on the bottom left and has "factory workshop manual 1986-88" written on the front. THat one is still better than the gregories one

I spoke to they guy who works for the company that prints the max ellery's manuals and he said that EP.C2 manual (the one i posted the pic of earlier) should have every thing in it that the older one did plus new updated info since the older one was first published. Have ordered a copy, so i suppose i will soon find out if it has quality info in it Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Its pretty good to have all 3 sources, as they all do good. Asking on the forums is ok, but really you want the info right then and there and most should use initiative to go and learn on their own accord, as it will sharpen your understanding. Sometimes the holden can be too complicated, or they dont provide REAL diagrams but detailed drawings. Each package has their pros and cons... but together its magic. I find that the max elleries is very pictorial, which is good for starting out. Gregories has hardly any pictures, but is accurate in what they say. Both a good, but they are all spawns of the original holden manuals. If you want NITTY GRITTY, get the holden manauls, you cant go wrong. for those that used the pitstop site, it would have been wise to use the search command or email the owners of the site. Cant expect everything to fall in your lap you know search for "vl commodore" and you will get a listing. the holden manuals are item no.s: 10644 Holden Commodore VL Vol 1 & 2 Service Manual Holden $89.95 10646 Holden Commodore VL Vol 3, 4 & 5 Service Manual Holden $120.00 That covers pretty much everything for the VL 6 cylinder nissan NON TURBO. There is a seperate turbo part.... which i found VERY handy 6050 Holden Commodore Calais VL Volume 6 Turbo Engine Components 1986 - 198 Holden $69.00 I orded it at about 4pm on a wednesday night... and it was at my door at 8am! thursday morning! YES THE NEXT DAY FROM PERTH TO MELBOURNE Shocked as i was, i couldnt even of gone out to buy it quicker myself! air express service, paid by credit card, great customer service! The only problem with the holden manual, is they sometimes make references to other manuals which share similarities, such as brakes ie: refer to VB manual CODE..... GAY. So thats where you get gregories and a max elleries..... for a full comprehensive guide to everything VL, cant complain for 400 dollars farken! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Ive got the Max Ellerys one in the pic on the last page, I like it better than my Gregorys one but, all my pages are falling out of it I dont think they were glued in properly. The max ellerys one seems to have more pictures and explains stuffa bit better than the gregorys one, but between them I have worked out almost everything I have needed to know so far.
