Full metal jackets are great. BUT. Holden keys are like skeleton keys when they are old, and my car was stolen with a club lock and metal jacket on it. Not a kint of tampering with the lock, musta had a key, although dorr lock was missing when got car back. Cops said the do this to counter against alarmed keyholes and locks on doors. While the car was in the workshop, someone tried to steal it from there. This time they used something to try and pry the metal jacket off but it didn't budge, just a slight bend around the opening for the key, lock not turned. Little did they know obviously that there wasn't a motor in the car at the time they tried to steal it, dumbasses!!!!. I now have a gps tracker lined up to be installed in it as I am really paranoid about thieves. End of the day, do everything you can, but don't leave it anywhere that you are even slightly cautious of, mine got nicked from the front carpark at school, on a main road.

Well I thought I had a full metal jacket but obviously I don't. My device sit's under the dash and is a key operated lock. You simple push the button down and it does three things. Kills the fuel pump , kills the starter motor and bolts the bonnet shut. The whole thing is wrapped in 5-8mm of steel and the key is some weird ass looking thing. So when the alarm goes off you have no way of getting into the bonnet because it gets bolted shut at two separate places.

Yours is a Croc Lock. Your car wouldn't happen to be a white VL 5 litre too would it because a mate had one on his years ago. Full metal jackets are available from Holden. I think they cost around $70.

Theres not point spending thousands on coolers, stereos and body kits if you only want to spend a hundred bucks on an alarm. A good alarm like black widow and most american brands (huge GTA rates) will be a wisely investment and will give you piece of mind (damn im starting to sound like ita buttrose, ahhhhh :x ) as they say theres not better security than a cop in your rear view mirror

I got my alarm installed a few weeks ago. It cost me $250 on discount from $450. COmes with engine and fuel immobliser, alarm, boot release, sensors in bonnet, boot, doors. I find its pretty good. When i get some more money i can add on GPS, pager system and central locking. Another thing that a lot of people are now doing is hooking there alarms up to their steroes. There was a VL in street commodores a while back which had this. Apparently when the alarm went off it was 130db. 8O

i think some pioneer stereos have a built in alarm that uses the speakers to produce a really high pitched sound that is supposed to stop the theif being able to drive the car
