Hahaha they do rebuild cabs every 100,000 though so they don't do too bad.... A mate of mine has an old EA Falcon thats been round the clock 2 times... 2 Million kays on the damm thing and it still starts, runs and stops like a new car. Uses hardly any fuel, never uses a drop of oil, no leaks and no smoke... All that aside though, its by no means a performance car.

Gents, I've had a look on the inner front strut behind the front fender (near front door hinge) and the sticker their says Holden Field Campaign 86-H-01. Does anyone no what these stickers mean?. It also says on the sticker that it should never be removed. JR. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

It was a recall type thing. Don't know what for though. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

heat sheid for the exhauste if early type car or more likely the brake booster.the casing join was not good enough and the two haves could part.we checked the crimping of the locking joint.mostly VK. i think all the fan speed resisters would have been done by early VL.

Thanks DaveHoos I've always wondered what the recall was for. Don't mean to be rude but you must be about my age if you were working on VL's when they were new! You give good advice because of your experience.......just wish more people would listen. Cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Fellas, I'm going to get my yellow VL resprayed and was wondering is it better to go with the Asbynth Yellow that is used on the BT1 VLs or the 1D111-D yellow colour which is used for all other non-turbo yellow VLs. I'm chasing a glossier finish....sort of like a canary yellow colour. Cheers, JR

I have a N/A VL In crazy canary yellow paint, looks really different in underground car parks as mentioned. I suppose its absinth yellow? Its the best yellow to get anyway, all shiny. I can look at the name of it under the hood if you like? I know my Exec ISNT a bt1, and its BT1 yellow.. so either it came that color from the factory, or somewhere along the line someone did a very good respray in BT1 yellow.

Yeah, I think Im going to get it resprayed the same as that awesome looking BT1 VL with the plates JETBT1. It looks filthy in newly painted Absynth Yellow and silver bars. Probably will download some colour pictures of it and give those to my panel beater so he has got some idea of what I want it to look like. I'll put up some pics when the VL is fully finished. Cheers, JR.
