Read the info on the other site that i posted the link for (Info originally came form HSV site). There were two cars built (different shades of Blue) and two Carbon Copy cars (both Red). Your mates car is CC03 as mentioned before providing that it is the turbo red car you mentioned. You can not prove how many are still in existence or where they are located. No one can tell you exactly where all these cars are as they usually remain unregistered and hidden in collectors garages etc.
I know of plenty of rare Commodres that have been unregistered for years, some models of which people wouldn't even believe were ever built.
As for the list of models, here is some more to add:
HDT Bathurst + Aero version
HDT Sandown
HDT MT Panorama
HDT Designer Series
HDT Turbo
And any number of other limited dealer special packs not previously mentioned.
Corsa
Corsa, were those cars actually road registered cars sold from a dealership?
adding all the cars up together, thats 24 differnet shades of VL models... geez!
I wonder if a real avvid VL collector has ALL of them !
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah, all road registered. No Collector has them all as some are one off models (some daily driven and some locked up) and there are a few models with less then 10 built. Can't imagine a collector would want one of each anyway.

I got this HSV book that gives you all the info u need on the F20 SV. Here is a bit of a summary: There were four Vl Commodore F20 SVs built in July 1988.
Two F20s built and both cars were blue, no.1 was Imperial Blue, and no.2 was Marlin Blue. These cars came with Turbo engine and automatic.
Two CCs built (HSV Company Car clones). Both of these came in Maranello Red, no.3 came in the Turbo engine and no.4 with a standard engine.
Hence each four cars had a unique specification but all were based on the Berlina.
The body modifications are based on the SV88 and Vl Group A with the standard Vl nose cone. At least one of these cars was fitted with Group A sports seat package. Interior for each car was different.
I hope this is useful
Also there is another one for sale in a magazine about a month ago. It is built no. 1. It is Imperial Blue, 3L turbo, automatic. For $14.500 in NSW. Ph 02 4965 1884.

What do you know, it's the same build number i mentioned twice before and now again confirmed by VLWPN6. There will always be enthusiasts that know about these rare cars even though they don't have a mate that owns one. The more you look into the rarer models the more you will learn.
Corsa
hay mate if u dont belive it call my mate as i said he would be more than happy to show u the car or even drag u when he has fixed the big end bearing go on call him or dont u have the ball's to be wrong
i dont talk **** mate call him or r u a wimp
p.s. corsa u r a **** sucker who think's they know all
f20 ownersmate, i think that a stack of pics of the car including that ID tags under the hood would put some minds to rest..........
From the infomation shown to me i would conclude that your mate has build no.3 of the 4 cars made.
Corsa what about the HDT VL Singnature Series, the white cars all sedan exept for one red station wagon that was for sale in NSW a while back or did you mention that

Personally i dun care the only thing i can are about is gettin some more pics of this LMTD VL n gettin my self a sick ass VL AERO Twin turbo in hot house green n show what Jap/Aussie cars can do(with the help of a wog driver).
Never speak against the green  .
f20_ownersmate you said that the tag showed build no:003f4
model: svcc
date: 22.6.88
But in this book that i own and got the info that i posted before, it says that your mates tags should show: Build No: 003 F3
Model: SVCC
Date: 15.6.88
Can u see a bit of a difference in the build no. and the date. :? Can u plz double check im curious.
