I'm using the cae starter conversion with a powerglide.
Bought my pipes from VPW for about $770
That's the same as my set up but I'm running a C4 with a JW bell housing & manual steering . My extractors were touching on the ribs on the bellhousing so I had to give them a bit of a tweak which wrecked the paint so I got the hpc coated in black as well .

I suppose il have to wing it n just try the mounts!
He said he had a little room n it didn't change the position of the motor !
Also said he did these mounts in that cutsik Vk !
Could be a couple of months now till the donk goes in as things have got a little out of hand n just bought a 4 inch callies crank n some rods all forged!
Also on the hunt for a 6-8 /71 as we speak its just going to be a burnout car now!

09-07-13, 22:14 GMT+10#391 I bought a new 350sbc 671 kit yesterday 4grand
About $700 for the manifold I need plus have to rig up a plate to fit the blower on it!
Also got my callies forged 4" crank and my forged h beams!
Hopefully pistons next week
Then straight on to the heads n cam
Also all those fat looking braided hoses I ran are no good for e85 so il be changing them in the middle of this and not to mention the pipes ect ect
But at least while busy on the motor I can learn from everyone about the mounting n pipe issues!!!
I'm just a little pumped at this stage haga
How's yours much progress?
Do you know any one who wants that 355 gear as its no use to me now???

Na never hated ls motors just had nothing to do with them until I bought my clubsport n now I love the easy power out of them!
I had never herd of Motorsport connections but if its a car place you will spend a **** load at it!
Mine is slowing down ATM as I have a work injury n not sure what's going to happen ATM!
But carbys should be almost done! Twin holley 650dp for e85
Heads getting done as we speak with cam n springs port n polish!
I picked up my brand new 671 set up just need a holley hi ram for it!
I have the 4" crank n rods waiting
Still need pistons which r next n bore the block then il get the bits n pieces to bolt together!
I'm pumped ATM but not working will put this on idol for a while I would say!

Had a couple of dramas getting the motor to sit in the middle with the tuff mounts and working out the height for the trans before I made the x member . That's about it . Why you got dramas ? Let me know if you need me to come around .

Hey not really running in to dramas as such just the job getting bigger and bigger!
I thought to myself why not smooth the bay and radiator support n re spray the bay while I have no motor in it!
So there for all my wires are folded back on the window ATM as been ripping in to the panel side to go to the paint shop tomorrow to be hi filled and painted next week with some luck!
I got my heads and cam the other day n I'm thinking il leave it std bottom end for now and build a cast iron block and around 420 cube give or take!
We are starting on a walki with a ls in it also and wondering what mounts work well with what extractors!
What issues was it with the motor not sitting right?

29-08-13, 04:57 GMT+10#398 George, did you buy your tuff mounts off Lowe Fabrications or Muscle Garage or via gumtree etc?
There was a guy selling copies around Moorebank area and everybody who has a set of these has issues with engine sitting right. I got a set off the same guy and found multiple differences when compared to the real deal at Lowe Fabrications. All for saving $100 on a new set of mounts..
Just be aware too, Pacemakers have gone up to $830 at Best Mufflers. I was lucky to offload mine for $700 unused due to price rise (paid $730), which was lucky as I went straight back down to Chris to get the same to suit VT-VZ that day.

I thought they may be copies but I sent an email with pics to Jas @ Velocity auto who said they were his early ones . He told me to try adjusting them again . Ended up swapping the bottom of each mount around and that fixed it . My extractors ended up costing me $1200 cos I went and got them hpc coated as well .
