This will get a few laughs, I ran my 2L on avgas when I first bought it, my fuel pumps quickly died after that Not sure if it was related. There's a good thread in the tech section about modifying the airbox to have a cold air intake in behind the front bumper, involves cutting the front guard though.. that's what always stopped me, but when I bought my wagon I got home and found out it had already been done. Either way go with a panel. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Something I just thought of, Would an early Commodore (pre-VK) guage cluster (like the one in the link below) Physically (ie size/dimensions) fit into a VL? Would anything need re-calibrating? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=330418981767 (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=330418981767)

they were fitted to VB/VC base models, as well as base model utes and taxi-packs, shouldnt be too hard to track a set down.

Did you do anything to the tail lights on the 2L, they seem way darker than any other VL tail lights that I've seen?

no they are standard VL Berlina. I did paint them to look like SS taillights but i think I put them back to berlina spec before I sold it.

Hey guys, I'm i bit confused about what size wastegate to run, I have a turbosmart 38mm ultragate but I'm wondering if it's gonna be too small (I'm hoping to run around 10-15psi). According to the Turbosmart website: * big turbo/low boost = bigger wastegate * big turbo/high boost = smaller wastegate * small turbo/low boost = bigger wastegate * small turbo/high boost = smaller wastegate But how high is high boost? or low boost (in terms of psi)? any help would be great Sam

would over spool damage your engine?

If it had boost leak (or whatever it's called) and crept up a few psi then I guess so? as the ecu wouldn't have been tuned for more, so it would start to lean out?

one of those cheap DSR ones, .63 rear .50 compressor. Yea I bought that wastegate on a spur of the moment thing not realy thinking about it, coz its a turbosmart and it was brand new and quite cheap. And then I started thinking and was like oh **** I hope I don't have the wrong one. I don't want it to be like my bl00dy 040 pump that I bought for 300 and I only could sell it for 150, its not the kinda thing people go looking for everyday. poor man pays twice - so do clowns like me who don't think cheers guys Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

the turbosmart 38mm should be fine in my opinion. im only running a synapse 40mm on my engine seems to be sweet at this stage originaly i was going to go for a 50mm but i had alot of people recomend the synapse 40mm the good thing about it is you can easily change boost settings by the vaccuum lines around to make different combinations but yeah the 38mm should be sweet
