It wouldn't surprise me, and it'd surprise me less if it was because uncle helen and her fools decided MORE tax was a good idea.
And the boyracers vs middle aged drivers thing is a bit off, of course there is going to be more crashes involving middle aged drivers.. there's more of them! Though the comments about boy racers not reporting accidents is wrong, because the statistics in question are about 'fatal' crashes, and they're all picked up and cleaned up by ambulance crews.
My first comment is also relevant for the reason woman pay less on insurance than men, yes men have more accidents.. but more men drive (especially on long trips, who is driving on a family holiday?).
yeah, i'd love to share your pain but i havnt paid for gas in 6 years for my dailys, or occasionally for the other cars!
I was more refering to post no.16 and the last 3 lines in particular..not mikes input. There seems to be the same 10 old farts typing in all the threads and generally inviting responces like below. It really shows the mentality of the little fraternity in trade me world
I dont condone what they did
and giving me **** about what I like in regards to cars, aint gonna make it better you f-ckwits! I didnt do skids not did I egg them on, I was justing rolling with my teamleader from work cos he was keen as go & checkout what was happening at The Base and decided we would just cruise around checking it out & then they started the skidfest. So once again, giving me **** because I love my Probe & love Fords aint gonna make it better. And if you idiots wanna sort this out in person (cos its seriously getting old) then please leave me your home address or home number & I will come see you sort this out for once...

Lol yeah I think you're thinking of the right car. Pop up front lights, 2 door, rear lights go right across the back. I think I only remember them cause my drum teacher when I was 10 had one.
yea ugly as looks like it should've been electric. jeez ford make some ugly cars.especially the new range. they had them on display at the ham400 and all of them were very "plasticy" i could've pulled the grill out of them if i wanted. the only good thing is they have a "turbo range" and alot were six speed manual, even the mondeo xr5 turbo. holden need to do this!!!!!

Niiiiice!

I have the funniest feeling it was named by a woman - seriously! What she was thinking, I have no idea. Way to many bad connotations!

Yeah, who wants to get probed!
And the new Falcon range.. the higher spec you go the uglier they get! (From what I've seen so far anyway..) Whereas with the VE range, just look much, much better as you go up the price range.
...its just a pity they're so damn good... The XR6T/G6ET will leave an HSV GTS for dead. And if you happen to get lined up against a new F6 at the lights...don't bother...

Ford XR6T/G6ET - 270kW
FPV F6 - 310kw
Holden SSV - 270kw
HSV GTS - 317kw
I can't see how an XR6T with 270kw will leave an HSV GTS with 317kw for dead
Snot all about power ya know. Its how they get it to the ground. Granted the figures I have for the HSV are the 307kW motor, but the 317 has no more torque, although it is now available from lower RPM. Whether this makes a difference or not, I don't know.
Launching these Falcodores is tricky business, all they want to do is go sideways. No good for 0-100 times. The best time out of the G6ET was with TC enabled!
I think it is the latest Wheels mag which has dyno tests of the FG FPV GT and HSV 317. The GT makes more power at the rear treads than the GTS.
As for HSVs claimed 0-100 of 4.96 - I believe this has been acheived only once by one of their own test pilots at Lang Lang.
FG G6ET 0-100 5.29
VE SSV 0-100 5.48
HSV GTS (307kW) 0-100 5.35
Those are real world figures obtained using GPS technology.
By early next week I should be able to tell ya the numbers for the 317 GTS and probably the new F6.
5.29 or 5.35 is hardly leaving it for dead though, and know one would tell the difference in speed on the streets
Anyway, if you want speed just go out and buy a new STI... don't muck around with these big heavy Aussie tanks
Thats all true, but to have Falcon, not even an FPV, thats faster than the top HSV is a little embarrasing!
Its a hell of a lot easier to launch the G6 than it is the GTS. The 5.29 is a very repeatable figure, whereas getting a good launch in the GTS is hard work. It either smokes the tyres, or the clutch. In the G6 you just stomp and go.
All said and done, I'd still have the GTS in a heartbeat.
The new STI is not a bad thing, although we do get shafted by being lumped with the 2.5 mill. The 2 litre is a much better engine. The fastest STI to date is the limited edition S204 released back in '06. Sure she aint pretty but with a 0-100 of 4.60, there aint much faster!
