Those ripple strips are so harsh, bet racing suspension is worse over those...Brett?

Proma MBL8 is the best additive for the engine oil. Moreys upper cylinder lube is also a terrific product, have had good results (improvement in idle quality, less noise from the fuel pumps, improved economy) by mixing it with the fuel. Can also be added via the inlet manifold with the engine running at 2500rpm to remove carbon from valve seat and combustion chamber.

Gets me thinking, what are the RB engines (since the VL RB30) like in terms of noisy lifters, are they any better? or will they be just as noisy once they are 20+ years old? (I dont know, I don't really hang around skylines )
If it was going to happen it would have by now, the head design on the later RB's is in a different decade, much improved design. Some of the Nissan V6's do have a reputation for being a rattler.

calais is playing up
when cold it bogs down under heavy/sudden load
my thoughts are:
leads
some sort of temp sensor
dirty fuel
dirty plugs
any ideas would be cool
so it only happens when its cold?
try cleaning the plug on the coolant temp sensor. even better, pull the sensor out and clean it up. it may be giving a false reading to the ecu causing it to overfuel on a cold engine.
if it was your HT leads I think you'd probably have the problem most of the time, not just when cold? as it would be misfiring on at least one cylinder and be sputtering unburnt fuel out the exhaust. (if this is the case then check to make sure all your HT leads/spark plugs are all dry).
If it was dirty spark plugs then there's still the problem to solve of why they are dirty in the first place. (eg overfueling, oil/sludge build-up).
I know its just not the same as an RB30ET in a VL but you could do full RB25DET conversion, complete motor/gearbox/loom/ecu packages are on TM for around 4-5k, with low km's ex-Japan, even from factory they have more power than a RB30ET, in a way i wish I had gone that route, probably would have been a fair bit cheaper, esp as there is so much aftermarket stuff available for the RB25's.
thats what made me consider that option of going 25de head as they say its easier to fit in [ no vvti ] , and that there plenty of parts for them on trademe. cause looking at parts to turbo the 30e it seems a mish. i dont any shops or anything to go and buy the parts.

r33 rb25de 140+kw standard, pick them up for $400-600 trademe with loom computer then at some stage convert to turbo if wanted parts are easy as to get and cheap its been all discussed before but to be honest their is no cheap easy ways to go because as every one who has done something similar it will cost more than you think and alot more $$$$ than people will tell you
Does anyone know how I can find where to get in contact with a dead guys family ?
Just that I brought a manual conversion for my wag about 2 months ago and I still don't have it as the day I had a truck ready to pick it up he passed away and his famill asked if I could pick it up another time so I tried contacting thewm a week later and now can't get in contact with anyone. Brought it off trademe and I have been confirmed that he has passed away.
Guys name was Nick Hay and he lived in Christchurch, any help would be highly appreciated !!
