It'd certainly be one of the earliest LW5 plated cars out there, and one of the few with the small Holden badge on the bootlid.

Such a shame he doesn't have photo's of it before it was painted as it's only two bodies after my gold car and would have been perfect proof of what badge was fitted... 214929-A...AVL013958A...Red one I'm wrecking 214938-A...AVL014027A...My gold car 214940-A...AVL014035A...Your mates All 3 of them would have rolled off the line on the same day !! 214808-A...AVL013927A is the earliest Adelaide production car I have listed. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I'm not sure how plates were issued in Victoria back then. In SA, various rego offices had blocks of sequential plate numbers each. Being a manufacturer I'm not sure if Holden would have been trusted to have had their own blocks, or maybe they just had groups of test cars registered at the same office at the same time. Would have incorporated any car to have been driven on the road (test cars, press cars, loan fleet, company cars etc).

Thought I'd bump this thread Just browsing through Australian Musclecar Sales and found this car...I remember seeing it pop up awhile back but don't recall seeing the body plate. Build date - July 86 Body number - 100475M http://australianmusclecarsales.com....odore-sl-turbo (http://australianmusclecarsales.com.au/muscle/185771-vl-commodore-sl-turbo) If it wasn't quite so expensive, would be sweet car to own....Good history Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I reckon that one was the first turbo I came across with the small badge a while back, which made me look harder at my gold one. It was on Carsales for 35K when I first saw it 18 moths ago now.

Nice example. In one of the pictures, the Americas cup logo states "1987". Does that seem right Vltwhite 1 (Craig) on a July '86 car? Regards, David

Yep, if this is the one from ebay I was looking at, it was gold and she was from a farm alright, must of been full of red soil, because even after they detailed it, you could see the red dirt in all the grooves of the dash!

Yep, Holden were sponsoring the defence of the America's Cup in Fremantle in January 1987 so pretty much everything Holden did in 1986 had the logo on it.
