From what I remember, SR box is basically identical to an MX7 box with different gearing...MX7 is the clunkiest heap of sh1t ever...like rowing a boat pulling gears.

Am wondering what you guys think of the ability of the tremec 6060 in a 400rwkw RB30/25 in both terms of 1/4 mile times as well as reliability. Will be street driven which is why a 6 speed is wanted. Will have a vipec v88 and dyno guy who is same person being used tO do drivetrain recommended this due to strength of box and being able to set up computer to only deliver half boost in top two gears so with a 4.11 set of gears in rear end it will still cruise at low rpm and deliver great performance in first 4 gears. Am I being led on or is this a realistic possibility?

Why would you not want full boost in the top gears where the car is more likely to settle down and hold traction? Wouldnt you want a boost cut depending on RPM in the lower gears, to try and limit wheelspin? I suppose fitting that gearbox could work if there is an adaptor or a bellhousing for the RB. I have been looking at the getrag v161 as someone suggested, but its the same problem, i cant find out if there is an aftermarket bellhousing available.

Has anyone put a TKO600 behind a RB yet? Cant say i've seen it,Theres a few falcons getting around with them though.

Ash, I think because the top two gears would be over-drive and wouldn't be used in 1/4 mile racing.

What if you're crazy like jase and you want to do standing kilometers at warp 9? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I know one of the workers at boostworx in adelaide has a commordore T56 behind his Rb30 in a R31, makes nearly 400rwkw i think on E85 and 3540 setup, think they made the bellhousing themselves cheers darren

Just put 50 pound in it and hold on, standard gearbox

I think if my R34 pull type box goes I will go powerglide, too expensive without off the shelf gear

If i break my Rb25 box i'll take another look at getrags. For now though i'll give it a chance, since i have it available.

what tailshaft is recommended for an rb25 box in a vl chasing around the 350rwkw range?? my clutch is an exedy cushion button. i don't really wanna be replacing tailshafts so what would be the strongest. cheers

Unless the clutch is custom probably wouldn't last very long at 350rwkw One piece / two piece tailshaft as long as its custom shaft you should be right.

its an exedy 5puk brass button. im running a custom one piece but i need to massage the tunnel coz its hitting. i might just try space it away first. don't really wanna have another tailshaft built if i don't need to. car will be used for drags, circuit and some drift days.
