Think he may be hanging on to them for a while until he sorts out harrop brakes. and if he is getting rid of them I have first dibs After him seeing all the guys today at the drags, don't be surprised if this head down the strip next meet Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

the fr17's are indeed dibbsed by wonder boy as he has been a legend in not only sling me the car but all his support with everything. One of the nicest dudes i know. if things change then wil post it up here as they have brand new under a tank of petty old bridegstones and theres also a spare set of new 17's for them too. Car is going to be dragged on the 26th so everyone come and watch me be retarded at my first time at drags. Car is going into boostworx in a few days to get stage to anti lag tuned into the vipec and so hopefully that will all be sweet come 26th, does anyone have any rough estimates as what the best take off rpm will be to get tuned into the soft launch rpm for the take off? all the motor has had done is gt35/40, 550cc injectors, bosch 044 pump and surge tank, vipec and the bottom end and bearings been redone and tuned to 270rwkw linked up to r32 box and standard vl turb diff. New motor is basically ready too, got the call from bullet cylinder heads today. It's been held up due to getting all the visible stuff polished or reordered in chrome. After the drags it will prob come off the road ready for the new engine and trans and diff and brakes etc

Hey guys, just thought I'd post up with the updates as theres a heap happening with the build all at once. Brakes which are harrop ultimate kit which are made up of 381mm rotors at front and 356mm on rear with 67 cross vein slots, 6 piston front calipers and 4 piston rears. getting the modified racebrakes vt master cylinder and braided lines with it and not to mention the calipers have been sprayed in House OF Kolor Kandy Brandywine. Finges crossed they arrive Monday but here are the pics so far... (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/841/img0403qf.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/43/img0401xa.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/40/img0400mx.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/845/img0412be.jpg/) Car and engine is now at boostworx and Shaun has recently hooked me up with a VE tremec 6 speed with bell housing, heavy duty tailshaft and a 1000hp twin plate clutch. The last piece of the motor which has been at the polishers for 4 weeks was the plenum which now looks amazing... (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/96/imageqhcl.jpg/) So now apart from things like PWR radiator and harrop true trac 31 spline diff with 4:11's, second bosch 044 for the e85 and billet axles the mechanical side is almost ready for the swap but while the box and engine is out decided to fill any holes in the engine bay as Shaun is going to do hidden wiring, relocate fusebox to glovebox then get it sprayed. Colour of choice is a metallic blue with a silver pearl through it. Hopefully engineers are going to be happy to sign off on it so it won't be an issue when cops start hassling it when they see the polished garrett cooler hanging down behind the front kit.. Car at spray shop.... (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/189/img0417xz.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/705/img0419cp.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/28/img0418cs.jpg/) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

It was 7 for the kit, more expensive than normal due to the 67 cross vein slots and calipers were h&c coated then had 2 diff house of kolor paints applied plus also included was Vt hubs, handbrake bracket, pads, bolts and adapters then the master/booster and braided lines were another thousand. hoping the red on the callipers will look good at shows with all the red and blue fixtures in the engine bay

no offence mate but u could of just bought the brakes off ebay for under 2k then had them painted yourself and u can buy the dba 5000 discs for 800-1000 for the pair , and hub adapters are 250 new , and had 3-4k still in your pocket ...

Harrop 6 and 4 piston brakes or any other brand of 6 and 4 piston callipers painted in house of kolour paint for 2k? send me a link on ebay of unpainted 6 and 4 calipers that are same quality as harrop for 2k. be interested in seeing what i couldve bought. isnt that like pointing out that there are cheap 300 big top mount turbo's on ebay for a few hundred bucks and that buying a garrett is then a waste of money?! I'm wanting to get the car engineered and use it as a show car so going the xtra length and cost of getting good quality parts is important

I would say BT was talking about the HSV Harrop 4 pot brakes all round... which are plenty big enough for a VL. I will be interested to see how the 4.11s go mate, I think you will run out of puff and will change to 3.9s before too long

I think the 4.11:1's will be fine with a 6 speed. I owned an R33 GTS25t and that was 5 speed with 4.11:1's didn't have any issues with that. $7k is a lot of money for brake calipers and rotors :O

This is the ad from the guy i bought them from :Front: 6 Piston caliper with 381mm 2-peice Disc Rear: 4 Piston caliper with 356mm 2 peice Disc Calipers are HPC Coated and then were painted olkl.lp e with House of Kolor Cinder red base. ( Painted by 2 DIE 4 Bodyworks) Discs were ordered with 67 cross vane(slots, optional extra) Vt hubs, handbrake bracket, pads, bolts and adapters also included(all purchased thru Harrop at time of purchase) Some may say it's way too much to pay for brakes but thats the whole thing with modifying a car. You do what you think is going to perform and look good not what everyone else thinks is cool. metallic blue blue paint with the polished fr19's that are going to be filled with brake rotor and metallic wine coloured red to what i want and like will pull the car up unbelievably and also look great even when its stopped at the lights or in a car show. Each to their own though i guess, they are at toll now and picking them up tomoro. Engine bay should be finished getting all holes filled up and sprayed by end of the week and car back at boostworx to have engine, gearbox and brakes put in and eventually the diff anc some billet axles

Like you said, it's the price you pay for getting the best.
