Here is photo of my rig ..88 bj70 Swb cruiser 3b diesel 340,000 clicks no smoke does nt burn any oil . . Most reliable vehicle Iv Eva know ... been every where mt. Dissa , toolangi , warburton , wesburn . On a weekend bassis . Been on 4 ottway hard tours .. And 4, week long high country trip s never broken down . After 1 of the ottway trips I did get the transfer rebuilt but I did nt brake down . had wheel bearings changed a few times as u do when the thing goes swimming every outting gear box has been whining for 2 years but still going strong .. And it has copped a smashing in the bushi do have much respect forit and don't go out to stuff it but some tracks as we know are impossible to pass with out mulitpul attempts and lots of wincing ... Looking at upgrading to a tough tourer landcruiser Hdj79r .. locks 35s .. so I can go on longer than 1 week high country trips ,. As the Swb is a tad slow on the black top and a bit small g ---------- Post added 03-03-11 at 10:22 ---------- ---------- Post added 03-03-11 at 10:36 ---------- ---------- Post added 03-03-11 at 10:38 ---------- ---------- Post added 03-03-11 at 10:40 ---------- Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I pick up my brand new triton next week. With regards to lighting. Roo lite vs Lightforce in particular the 170 to 180 size lamps. Is it worth the extra coin going lightforce? Any guys here experienced both brands. Both use a xenophot bulb so are you just paying for the brand name in this case? Cheers

Only scrub i'll be getting into is going up north along the coast up to exmouth. Possibly down south for enduro style bike rides etc.

Is it replacing the Maloo Arie? i miss the power of my ute, but the Nav can get 2 bike in back and take me anywhere. It gets beaten up a little but it is 4x4, its meant to be used and abused.

Yeah Christian its going next week. Wife gave birth start of the month and I've been contemplating it for a while now so its got to go. Can carry bikes and riding gear easily now. Family first. I will be missing it but oh well. Fast car is next car What model nav you got? D22? D40 aren't warranted for off road use. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

oh cool, grats on the bub mate. yeah i got a 2005 D22....i cant afford to shell out 40K for a new 4wd lol. could have gone for one of the newer D22's, but i didnt like the general consensus regarding the new 2.5L engine, ****e diffs and various other things breaking. The 3L can be opened up a bit more with minimal mods. I havent done anything to it yet mainly because i havent really needed to, but i woud like to chuck on one of the beaudesert exahausts an have the ecoshot system chucked on for some more pull. I will end up keep this one for a as long as i can for carting the bikes, bush bashing and camping etc...its a pretty solid 4wd WTF is with the D40 not being warranted for offroad

Its not a true 4wd ute. They say its good for tradies that enter building sites with uneven surfaces. You know they are made in Thailand and Spain the D40s. D22 Navara is where its at as far as navaras go.

pretty sure even the D22's are made in thailand now. Some of the earlier 2.5L were made in Japan, but im pretty sure that's not the case now. Im betting that the reason for all the D22 + D40 breakages is because of where they are now manufactured.
