it sounds just as noisy as a spool! does it shake and rattle the car much or is it smooth?

90 % of that is racheting. doesn't shake or rattle at all. however you can hear as i get just over a full circle i clutch in, rev and clutch out and it didn't want to unlock. got 3-4 squeaks in. when its locked its like a minispool. but it unlocks with very very little pressure, and also stay's locked with the tiniest bit of throttle. i'm pretty happy anyway.better than an lsd or full spool. i like the full spool but 2 much rattle + strain on the tyres / axles. lsd... well I want to smash something in there than never touch it again. lsd's tend to get loose

This is great so interested parties can see/hear for themselves and make up their minds from there. It does take a bit of practice to get the best out of these with a manual, particularly with an aggressive clutch. As you say though, noise aside, these drive much better on the street than a spool and unlike an LSD, it's not going to wear out after your first decent burnout! 4WD Systems tell me that for whatever reason, the Borg Warner version of the Lokka is louder, whereas basically every other version they do is very quiet. They are currently working on getting the noise down and I'll PM you as soon as I have further info.

very keen on seeing if they can get it quieter as i have a vlt lsd that needs rebuilding so im thinking of getting a open center carrier and slapping one of these in but i have a SL and can imagine what it will sound like have they sorted out anything in regards to noise in the BW's

Hey mate, thanks for the feedback. "Lokka" is the brand name that 4WD systems use, there is no misleading there. These are a quality Australian owned and produced product, made with Australian sourced materials.
