awesome mate.. ahh i forgot the gasket. I wasnt sure about the turbo.. note my question mark (lol) ive spoken to a few people and thought it was in my HP range.. like i said im still learning. Id possibly to tune it and up the boost as more is never enough, got a rough horse power quote for a GT3540? VLT diff for $850? ive seen good ones going for $1500.. theyre not getting cheaper.

GT3540 is a good turbo for the street on a RB30... Will make pretty good power on low boost and when you get more confident will crack over 300rwkw through a manual with more boost. Theres diff centers on ebay for $850... should be able to pickup some 28 spline axels cheap from a noob wrecker.... or you could minispool a stock 25 spline diff as a cheap temporary measure...

Ok.. well I guess when your a retarded qualified machinist and panel beater it doesn't really matter if an axel snapped and put you into a wall because you'd just build another car..

Pulled the rear end out to be resprayed.. doing it properly usuing plastic primer and clear coat (primer is $20 a can... on apprentice wages, thats what i earn in a week Bits to be painted. Already sanded them back and got all the scratches out (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/215779_10150174176779442_2989696_n.jpg.html) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Quite enjoying your build ans thread. I think an ls1 would sound pretty bad ass, its what you wanted right? $3200 is on the money for an engine and box, don't see that in a white sl often either? Do it.... You have all the resources bro..... with your skills you'll find a nice VLCT to do up later on. Legend Work.

Blah, VL turbos are too easy. Gonna stick with boosting it. Ill build another cars in years to come with a fat LS1 Im told RB30 internals are strong but im still not convinced. I mentioned it want to cam it, but with otherwise stock internals hows 350hp at the fly going on my 250,000km old bottom end and head? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Still love some feedback on turboing... Im at a bind as to what to do with my interior.. i like the blue but my only option would be to put s2 calais seats in it cause SL's are seats are ****. I have considerd going beige.. respraying all of my plastics PROPERLY.. not a 5 min export can job, because itd be too hard to find a new manual surround, sunnies holder and hi rise.. and get some beige leather seats out of a VR-VS caprice/calais and just source some brown berlina/calais door trims and roof liner... Any thoughts or ideas?? Also with the aussie dollar so high im going to get some gauges from america shortly. Autometer, good stuff... nothing cheap is good and nothing cheap is good. But im having trouble finding them in electrical rather then mechanical?

My inspiration... Wouldnt even mind some VY GTS rims now. I decided on beige interior now aswell. Looking out for beige VL berlina/calais door trims, sun visors, roof lining and door seals. the rest of the plastics will all be painted and the seats VS stato/caprice/calais ofcrouse. Started work on the boot layout today Ive got an exercise book with about 10 pages full or measurements, sketches, ideas and etcccc. Depending on how good this finishes and if people are interested, i may look into making DIY assembly kits. Template Timber blocks will be sikalfexed to boot floor and false floor mounted to them. None of this **** with the box wedged in by the floor as ive seen done before, asking for trouble. The box will be the right size aswell. I had to work out the area of the template (see how irregular it is -_-) Take my subs box cubic feet specs, convert that to meters cubed and find the right width for the box to meet the specs. All done properly More updates tomorrow as i ran out of daylight! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
