Apparently the cops rocked up because people were doing skids out on the road....idiots... Poor turn out overall and $25 was a bit steep for the amount of actual racing BUT hats off to Steve and the crew for putting it together, the money was going to a good cause so happy to hand it over, hopefully it gets bigger next year.

Looks like there were a few nice VLs out there! Would have been nice if it was a sunny day though.

Couple of pics that i got yesterday. Annoyed at the way some of them came out. Poor lighting + distance. Anybody able to fill me in on what the pliers are doing by the pumps on the QSR Gemini? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yes sherif was pro street champion ran a 9.8 at end of the day im told to win, i enjoyed the day very much so pat on the back to steve and can only get bigger and better, i thought there would of been more cars there racing though but was good to see TEAM KARAM and MAATOUKS make the trip down and support the event as ben IGNITE all the way from qld, will be interesting to see if these guys come next year, i personally wouldnt make the big trip down unless the track was prepped better, maybe even calder for it next year, its further but better facilties then heathcote and better track, or WSID? just thoughts

From all reports the weather wasn't great and you can't control that. Really how far did you have to drive? I know of people there who drove 25+ hrs to trailer cars down from QLD to race. They're not bitching about the weather or it cost to much. They're prepared to pay for the fuel and accom and the weekend away to have a go, not to mention the tens of thousands on thier cars. So if you're upset just cry into your pillow tonight or better yet tell your boy friend! The amount of organisation that goes into these things is unbelievable. It was the first of its kind and the weather didn't help, but it's sure to get bigger and better as the years go on. So instead of crapping on the event maybe offer a few suggestions on how to improve it for next year. Good work to all the guys that put the event together and for the people that showed up. See ya next year.

i went up there today, my personal favourite car today would definitely have to be DUF-588, running consistent 10.4, 10.5, 10.6's. with a 'simple' setup you could put it compared to most. standard plenum a medium sized turbo, street slicks and full trim. it just proves you dont always need the best of the best to lay down some good times. full credit to the owner congratulations. as for that gemini, well whats there to say i think it speaks for itself. that car was insane and whoever was behind the wheel (i think anthony maatouk) definitely knew how to push it to the limits!

I like the modification (blue) plate on the firewall of 'Sher1f's VL. Anyone know what categories he's got on that plate to make it legal to drive on the road? Bet the QLD cops would get a surprise when they popped the bonett! If they knew what they were looking at.

I went up today, thought it was great and well organised. I think the event would be better held at calder as its not as far for people to go and the facilities are better, but apart from that i say well done for a first attempt, hopefully it will continue to grow.

Was a pretty good weekend overall. So what that it was wet for most of the day on saturday. there was heaps of test and tune time for people to have as many runs as they wanted. I'm just stoked at all the guys who helped me out getting my car to try and launch better. cant say enough about justin from JW automotive. Never knew him before, Met him today and he was a great help tuning my car for me. awesome bloke. And all the guys from the Sher1f team. Great to see a team like this that doesn't have their heads in the clouds. thanks heaps. cant wait till next year.

He built my engine just before I came up here. Was very helpful and explained lot to my dumb ass through the process. You go to the big shops for advice and if they have time for you they'll try to sell every thing under the sun and rip you off. Not to sure of everone that was down there in in the 'SHER1F' Team but between them you wont find to many people with the knowledge that they have from turbos to super chargers. Hell I think Johnny might even know a thing ot two about cars besides how to drive one Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
