But wouldnt he get done for a number of offenses? Such as excessively speeding, not pulling over whilst in pursuit, neg driving, putting other people at risk, etc... along with theft...
I reckon he will get jail time for sure. Maybe two years with early parole for good behavior.. He will def have his license disqualified for 10 + years...
The judge will also look at the persons record. The thief may plea for mitigating circumstances and he may be given a soft punishment if he hasn't been into any major trouble before...

29-01-10, 11:07 GMT+10#47 sentence him to 10 years driving nothing but Daewoo hatchbacks.
that'll teach him...
but seriously, things like this will always go underpunished.
I mean, you can get away with minimal jailtime for manslaughter,
so stealing a car and not hurting anyone (exc. COLEYZ feelings) is not considered a crime worthy of long term jailtime.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The sad fact is he will say "Oh i didnt steal the car! it just turned up down the road already broken into and all i did was drive it home" Then his solicitor will say "Vl's are a dime a dozen and not worth anything on the blackmarket" and he will get maybe two weeks community service??? Even thou he has an extensive criminal history!!!
Thats what happened to the Pr1ck that stole my brothers VL Calais (it was found oxy cut into three pieces in his garage!) and he was cutting numbers out of another one when the cops arrived and he still got fu ck all for the crime!!!
Justice is best served cold.....

Third man facing court after high performance cars stolen and pursuit – Campbelltown
Thursday, 28 Jan 2010 05:21am
A man will face court today charged after the theft of four high performance cars from Canberra earlier this month and a pursuit during which a highway patrol officer was injured.
On Saturday 9 January 2010, four cars, suspected of being stolen in Canberra overnight (8-9 January), were detected travelling on the Hume Highway near Mittagong by Highway Patrol officers.
Police followed two of the vehicles which left the highway and travelled onto Narellan Road.
Officers lost sight of one of the vehicles, however, shortly before 9am, Highway Patrol located the second vehicle stopped in traffic on Narellan Road near the Moore Oxley Bypass at Campbelltown.
It will be alleged the driver of the second vehicle then repeatedly rammed the two police cars which were stopped in front and behind the stolen car.
The driver was arrested by police and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was subsequently charged with six offences including take and drive conveyance, resisting arrest, hinder police, assault police and being in a stolen motor vehicle. He was refused bail and will reappear in Campbelltown Local Court on 29 January.
A 33-year-old man was also arrested on 9 January in relation to the four stolen cars. He is expected to re-appear at Liverpool Local Court today after being refused bail on a charge of take and drive conveyance.
A Highway Patrol officer sustained soft tissue damage to his shoulder as a result of his vehicle being rammed and underwent treatment at Campbelltown Hospital.
Campbelltown Police have been conducting inquiries to identify those involved in the pursuit ever since. These inquiries included police working closely with the owner of one of the vehicles, a VL Commodore,
The inquiries culminated yesterday with the arrest of 19-year-old Ambarvale man at a house in Rosemeadow.
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with take and drive conveyance (x2), illegal use of a conveyance, disqualified driver (x2), drive manner dangerous, corruptly receive reward, remove unique identifier, goods in custody and two first instance warrants.
He was refused bail and will appear in Campbelltown Local Court later today.

30-01-10, 08:37 GMT+10#57 Congrats but for YOUR own sake PLEASE DON'T ADVERTISE YOUR SECURITY - Especially if you're installing GPS - It's the first thing they will look for and disable.
Congrats again.

30-01-10, 08:49 GMT+10#58 if hes got first instant warrants heis going to do time anyway, obviously a runner from court anyway, so hope he never gets bail.
sounds like a career crim, so odd are he will get 3 squares a day and more sex than he can handle. but he will probably enjoy it, you take somebody out of squallers, and put them in prison is like club med for them. and they dont care...
good that yougot your car back, a bit of a string of offences, not sure about take and drive convayance, he obviously intended to permanently deprive you of it, so should be car theif strait up.
but, sounds like you were the lucky one, since th eothers obviously destroyed the cars they flogged, and yours didnt get a mark on it, hows the rear tyres and stuff, bet they thrashed the buggery out of it, should make a list up of all the work you will have to do to it, obviously wear and tear is a big factor, go do a victim impact statement for the courts...
