You can't even compare the RB26 to a 2JZ. Now it will get interesting when people begin to use the RD28 block Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Now Ank is on the money. Quote: Originally Posted by NZ EVLHSV Agreed, but that motor is for a customer, the motor in their drag car is an RB30DET Yeah yeah, I'm not talking about their 240Z. Just the one pictured above. Only problem with that nomenclature system is it doesn't specify which head you're running, but that's just details. Just like it doesn't specify what turbo/s you're running.

This is a ridiculously stupid argument. Wether it's an RB30 with a single cam or twin cam head, it's the bottom end that determines the displacement. AN RB30ET was released as just that, but think about this. The Sammut Racing Brothers 300ZX had Mechanical Injection, not Electrical Injection. Does that mean that all along it infact wasn't the fastest RB30 for all those years, because it didn't retain the original 'E' that RB30's were released with, and to also mention that it was twin turbo'd, so it doesn't fall under the 'T' category either. I don't think so, and that's no different to wether an RB30 boasts a single cam or twin cam head. Jason.

Nor what pistons, gearbox, diff etc. At the end of the day it's a Nissan 3L RB series motor (RB30) with a heap of changes to the factory produced motor

If they come factory with Twin cams, it would still be called an RB30. End.

Yeah man, I agree with you. I'm just saying there could be a basic nomenclature system to give a rough idea of what it is. Like RB30MTT. Had it been twin cam and 3L, and twin turbo'd, RB30DMTT.
