this has got to be on of the stupidest topics ever so if someone has blown a headgasket with 150kw and had it replaced with the standard item then it no longer qualifies because the head has come off to me it doesnt mean sh1t if its unopened or opened, if your running 10s with a standard engine it deserves respect

thats just my point, it shouldnt matter if its opened or unopened, as long as its running all standard internals then i dont see what the problem is to me a headgasket and headstuds dont mean sh1t meh i just dont understand what the difference is if its opened or unopened i like this thread but as usual it has to turn into all these unwritten rules which have to be abided by and if the cars dont then they dont deserve any respect Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i just like it how its all changed over the years imagine 3 years ago walking into a proformace shop and asking what you need to run tens? you would cop a shopping list bigger then the noted swine flu cases now its just 818 cam injecters 044 35/40 computer slicks good gear box and a good tune mkjet doesnt even have 90/10's

true that if you went into a performance shop and said you wanted to run 10s on a standard motor you wouldve been laughed at

Quote: mkjet doesnt even have 90/10's probably the least of ur worries when trying to run a 10 second pass.. set of superlows and shortened shoks, chopped springs in the back and some et steet radials, u can drive to the track looking sik, run a 10, and drive home.. doesn't get much better than that.. who needs a jack and tyre man...

I think the recipe to run a 10, is if you had no idea and could sort through the bull**** would find it on the these forums. Hell its nothing but getting more fuel and air in and out and putting that power to the ground. Its not rocket science.

Its not just the tune that counts either.

yeh, but apparently its already been stated, head studs arent allowed, so for anyone trying... u'd want to get it all together on the first pass, cause if u happen to blow a head gasket, and then take the head off to put a new one on, its now been ''opened'' and doesnt qualify anymore HAHA !! I guess the oil you use, does play a significant part in how long it all lasts, bit of a difference between that $12 for 5L oil at SCA and Penrite HPR30.. lol
