whoops, I meant to say Vacationer, not Executive (Vacationer was a NZ-only model wasnt it?). Was it similar in spec to the SL's?
Vacationer was an option pack on VC, VH, VK, and VL Commodores, Available both sides of the Tasman, Like most VL's the Vacationers we see here are Trentham cars, and a majority are late run cars, (88, 89) These were SL based, but as NZ had no SL, they were close to a Berlina, They got Velour trim, the stripe package and VK Taillights and Garnish.
I have a feeling that the vacationers were so common here as the name was used to differentiate them from the VN when they were being built side by side, but I cant be too sure as I wasnt around.

14-06-09, 18:17 GMT+10#43 No probs mate. I like most of us want to learn things about these cars.
But the interiors sometimes had bits of all three at once.No history lesson ,Just doing things correctly so urban myths do not arise

15-06-09, 17:32 GMT+10#46 Another myth,Rolling upgrade as some of the first engines had that,(just the turbo ones)They just decided to do that to all the engines so they could just grab a block for a turbo unit.(hence why some people think there is a turbo block)
Cheers Marty
