opps I meant 297kw not 297rw/kw. NZ EVLHSV do you know what the rw/kw is for a VZ HSV R8? Stock 1/4 mile 12.5sec 118mph http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxG0vMGz58g

XR6T vs VX HSV In my opinion no car is better/worse, they have similar power stock and power made fairly easily with light mods. It pretty much comes down to what you like better V8 or turbo6. Personally I'd go the HSV because I prefer V8s and I love the look at VX HSVs Quote: Originally Posted by G What does a W427 run the 1/4 stock? Yeah, They reckon they built #427 HSV W427. Hey NZ EVLHSV I was going to upgrade the 21/4 inch exhaust with extractors on the R8. What size do you think would be legal. I know the 3inch would be way to loud, what about a 21/2 inch with high flow cats? do you think it would be to loud?

PM send re exhaust, and in response to your statement above "This would never happen to a HSV!!!!!" - Holden/HSV have had their fair share of problems/recalls, neither Ford/Holden are well built cars but they're cheap for what you get so I guess you can't complain too much Still waiting for G to tell me how important 1/4 mile times are to new car buyers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

HSV's are hand built compared to the mass production line of the ford and holden.

well firstly you're paying 150g for a holden ( lol ) secondly it's just a VE with an LS7 in it and they make it out to be some kind of animal with 375kw, so wheres the proof how quick it is? rather an FG F6 anyday, half the price and its quicker

Well by that logic an F6 is just a FG, with a turboed taxi motor. Anyway mate have you considered a Typhoon? My next door neighbour picked up a 06 BA Typhoon for $28,000 a few months ago. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

forced induction against a V8..... I say compare apples with apples. Id rather my VX clubby anyday over a XR6 turbo. they look and present that much better... if ya want cheap power, get the turbo, but it will never have the class or sound of a HSV

Thew thing with the LS7 is the titanium conrods, hand built engine, limted build number etc etc All the little nice things that go along with a 7000rpm rev limit on a 7 litre motor. There is about 30-40rwkw with a tune in these motors which is nothing to sneeze at. They are a 330-340rwkw and another 25-30 odd with a decent camshaft that isn't so emissions compliant. The W427 is one of the fastest 4 door saloon cars in the world. Considering the speed and its ability puts it against M5's etc etc its pretty well priced.

There is just something about big cubes turning big revs, there is nothing like it.

I doubt the people who have bought a W427 really give a sh*t if a F6 beats them by a bee's d*ck. IMO the W427 is a way nicer looking car anyway.

Gl with your decision anyways... BF series 1 only buddy.. series 2 06 / 06 onwards is the one to purchase..
