My 2c.... If the engine number confirms the motor was originally an RB....then it is the quickest RB powered car...pretty simple....IMO the thread or title claimed by RIPS should be fastest RB26/30.... People are free to use whats available to them, Twin Cam heads, NOS, Methanol, Water Injection, whatever it might be....majority of the time the only reason people wont use these power adders is $$$$$$$$ and thats all!.... Im sure at the end of the day if someone had an unlimited budget they'd opt for a 26/30 combo over a single cam setup any day...I dont know what everyones crying about... Fast is fast and this thing is fast.

Why can't it be called an RB30DET? The number 26 has nothing do to with the engine in his car other than the head being off an RB26

Could be a 25 or 26 head or even a 20 head......theyre all different but if you wanna generalise, thats fine, call it a RB30DET.

I don't see why you have to specify the head, they don't make you specify what turbo, or any other components for that matter. It seems the reason people don’t like RIPS calling their car RB30 powered is because it’s been built by a guy in New Zealand and it’s gone faster than their favourite yellow VL

definatley not a rb30 in my books , its a rb30/26 - whole differnt ball game i see it as ..... nissan never brought out a rb30 in twin cam , so when RIPS do the times on a single cam head then i will rest my case .... but lets not turn this into another debate and have the thread locked as per usual lol awesome work non the less guys!

Then why call your motor a 1.5jz? If you apply the same logic above to your motor it must be a 2jz to you?.........with a 1jz head............................which is as you say 'pretty much identical' to the 2j head anyway... Lol...you even have a website called 1JZ747...hahaha...its a 2j mate, what makes it a 1j??? The fact it uses a 1j head??? Oh god, here we go, round and round in circles!!!

Oh god, here we go, round and round in circles!!! it had a factory 1j in it for 6 years and went 10.01 at 137 mph, i then turned it into a race car and went 2jz, it had the number plate 1jz747 since i bought it so it just stuck. its a 2jz to me, its all the forums clowns that carry on about it.

http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=85399 And as I've said it before, they did all this early/mid 90's. So how many years have they held the title of "The world's fastest RB30ET"? If there is such a tittle!?! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

What does it matter how long you've held the record ??? Even if you held it for a day you still had the fastest in the world and no one can take that away from you
