From what i have read around the site, They are not rated for road use at all, There for illegal to drive on.
And yes he has posted that broken rim before and yes it can happen to any rim, But it has happen to the cheap copies more then once, Alot more.
And after my 5+ years being here i havnt seen a decent rim snapped yet, Bent yes, not snapped.

Chinese rims are ****, I'm pretty ashamed that I still have the replicas that came on my car.. but only being 17" they aren't quite as dodgy as the bigger rims.
Also, 'hectik' photo shopping on that monaro pic, I couldn't stop myself from laughing.

Yes I do. I've cracked expensive rims driving through an open man hole before and I realise these things happen with low profile tyres, but a rim that smashes the spokes is rediculous and no one should be driving on them

That's your problem. I can't afford a lot of things either

15-03-09, 15:53 GMT+10#52 I've done a bit of pot hole testing at my work and have never seen a genuine wheel fail. One ADR test is so harsh that when you hit the pothole the drivers head hits the roof lining, almost hurts your back too.
A wheel is allowed to deform a bit but it must maintain air pressure for 30sec to allow driver to maintain control of the vehicle and slow down safely
If it disintegrates like those pics its a big fail lol

15-03-09, 16:17 GMT+10#53 I saw another Black VE-GTS last night parked down Chaple st with a set of these. I'm still guessing Aftermarket copies... Although, did suit the car very much

Yeah sure its good paying about 2k cheaper than a genuine item but eventually its going to cost someone a serious injury and or a life or some serious damage to their ride. A lot of people have been lucky with cars stationary whilst they broke.
