Siroller if you had a budget similar to mine what splits would you get?? Focals sound like the way to go but almost $600 for them is pretty steep. Is it worth it? no point in blowing half the budget on them and then having only enough cash for a **** amp.

get some nice splits for the front, i got jaycar ones for 135, full volume no distortion, 6x9's in parcel shelf for mid range bass and 2 12" kenwood subs on a 1000w kenwood amp, decent amp makes all the difference wouldnt touch a 5 channel personally. get a mono block and 4 channel for speakers, will make plenty of noise.

EVERYTHING and probably update my sub and mono while selling my old ones to the little sister. nothing wrong they pump hard my main concern is i want something which will deliver lower basstones. i have my eyes on a mates DD but he doesn't want to sell so i might raid the car audio forums for something similair. in the end i am at a higher level of car audio than your average boot rattling vn but at the same time its still a pretty basic system in design and in comparison to sound and hifi dedicated cars. forum - http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/...ex.php?act=idx (http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/forums/index.php?act=idx) focal 6.5"s... if you think the sonys are clear these will leave you speechless. - http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/...owtopic=541762 (http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=541762)

The chicks always enter the car with pioneer as i pump muzza tracks through the system. !!!CHICKS CHICKS CHICKS!!! oh yeh!

I've tried many brands and I've found that Boston Acoustics speakers with Phenix Gold amps pulls the hottest chicks. It's a good combination of quality sound and thumping base This post is absolute bullshit

hey guys, jb said they can do me this system on a deal so i thought i'd see what others opinions of this is, is the price OK? : *pioneer dehp4050ub headunit with 3 x 4volt preouts ($294) *kicker RS series 5.5inch splits (100w rms) ($399) *JL 12w1v2 300w subwoofer ($317) *Alpine mrpf600 4 X 100w rms amp ($477) *Alpine MRPM1000 monoblock 600w rms at 4ohm ($499) Im thinking about going for the JL 12W7 1000w sub instead Anyone with suggestions if you think its a rip off plz say so lol. I didnt really want to spend 500 on just the monoblock. Has anyone ever heard the kicker RS splits? They are pretty damn good they cant be far behind focals and the likes. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I didnt really want to spend 500 on just the monoblock. thats a powerfull mono and a decent brand. no worries there. the 4 ch also sounds good as i said i paid near that for 4 x 70 somethingwrms pioneer head units are ok but check it has a 24 bit dac or however its spelt. this reads the cd many times before the sound is actually played increases sound quality and reduces chances of skipping. also make sure you are happoy with the appearance of the h/u. another consideration is what colour it displays and if it has a dimmer as i don't know about you but i actually have $hit eyes and at nighttime are very sensitive to glare so blue leds on a h/u blaring into my eyes are a no go zone. red is the best colour at night. also my old pioneer use to play cds while the face was flipped down towards the ground and no lights were on. 3 pre outs are a must have for ease of installation. as for the speakers i'd still go to a proper hifi store if you are going to spend 400 on a set of splits and compare kicker to other brands in that price range. also the sub is only using 300w but you have a 600wrms amp... use it's potential or don't pay for what you don't need. oh and as for getting girls in the car i haven't found any combination of brands to work. the best idea would be get out of your car and politely introduce yourself followed by taking interest in them as opposed to blaring muzzatracks on your popping pioneers while staring at their chests... if vlcrusn's method works avoid those girls as they have probably already been thrashed by vlcrusn and his mates and are probably hairy minged marias. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Okay, well i'm goign to buying a new sound system, cause when i did the first one i had no real idea wat I was doing, look it sounds alright but i'm over it, and less chicks are entering th car, which is a problem becuase i just keep geting hotter. I listen to 80's rock, Van Halen, Guns and Roses ect. also funk and some disco (u no born to be alive and shyt), but I also pump out muzza tracks like dixie. Wat kind of subs should I be lookign at size etc, wat head unit, amp, and wat type of speakers 6X9's , 6.5 ect. I'm thinking 2 powerful speakers with a subs and mabye putting the factory speakers in if possible. pioneer is like, but any good brand is cool i'm pretty easy on money seeing it's an N/A and wont be spending much on the engine, so i really need a sick sound system to make up for the lack of doses. so please help me. I will give u chocolate or some other delicious candy. oh another thing i relised chicks like candies, imagine a subwoofer that pumped candyies, man......there would be no stopping me

rofl vlcrusn i just don't know what you are on buddy. don't do 6x9"s do 12"s because they will play the classic rock that you enjoy as well as handle muzzatracks fine however realise that you will need to mount the amps in a way that makes them easily accesible for tuning as when you change from muzzatracks to gunners you will need to hop out of the car and turn down the subs. as above apart from that get some 6/6.5" coaxial rfears and some splits up front woofer in the door tweeter in the stock position you will need a decent amp to support the above and same as airbags when it comes to the h/u. airbags i went to jb hifi to have a look at these kicker splits but they had none in stock. thats a good indocation lol.

Lol yeh, i dont know if im getting those ones any more because i realised the ones they priced up for me are the 5.25 inch ones which wont fit in my door and the 6.5inch ones are the same price as a pair of focals lol. But if you get time to go back to Jb one day that would be great if you or anyone else for that matter could have a listen to the kicker RS series splits and tell me what they think? They are listed as $499 but you can bargain them down to 399 straight away.

Their boards are average (at best). Also, when listening to different speakers, make sure you take a CD with music that you actually listen to, not what they're playing. If I were you, Id go to a proper Car Audio shop & listen to a few different speakers that are actually installed in a car. Any decent Audio shop would have access to a car with a set of speakers they've done an install on. As for what brand to get....well, Ive had Boston Acoustics (awesome), Alpine Type X (good, but not as good as the Bostons), Hertz (not bad). All were over $600 though, but there's plenty of great splits out there for under $500. Just make sure u get good amps, otherwise your system will sound like poo! Quote: getting a DB system to be loud isnt too much hassle... LIES!! Quote: also what i said about the 10"s you said you want crisp and punchy and tens are great for that. as you go larger you start to loose that definition. 12"s however are a good midpoint though. i listen to everything from metal with double kiskers to big big bass in hip hop or dance music. if you go for a 15 theres no way you will be able to listen to metal music its all just 1 big bass note. That is false. Quote: Ive ran a DD 15" sub ..handmade from the US, retails for over $6,000 Calling a bluff here... Maybe you ran a 9500, or even an old 9900 which was $2399 RRP back when it was new...

The demo board is actually a better environment (When setup correctly). Also take into consideration when sitting in the car how close the speakers are to your face, try listening to them at that distance in the demo board, uncomfortable? In the demo board, the midbass and tweeter are very close to one another. In a car they are not equal distances from one another, as in Left and Right plus there is a large gap between the speakers throwing havoc on the sound stage. If you can, I suggest listening to what you can in a car.

A car's interior is a very complex place, with many different material types playing a part in the acoustics of the cabin. Im not going to get stupidly technical, but staring at a board with a set of speakers directly in front of you isnt exactly how its going to sound in your car. Also, where you mount your speakers, in particular your tweeters, effects the sound. Will the tweeters be aimed at your windscreen or angled straight at you from the top of the door? Reflected sounds sometimes sound bad. At the end of the day mate, there is no magic 'Best Brand'. What works in one car may not work in another. On top of all this, what sounds fantastic to one person may sound horrendous to someone else. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
