What rubbing issues have you got Jason? Front? Rear? Both? I trial fitted my wheels and the rears looked sweet, but I have rolled guards and an adjustable pan hard, of course I haven't yet driven on them yet... The fronts, well, My wheels came with tyres to suit the Clubby they were off, so I'm not sure they are correct for the VL, I think they are too big (but they were cheap!). I have sweet fcuk all clearance between the top of the tyre and the bottom of the spring seat. I'll check what size tyres I'm running, but I think I'll have to buy slightly skinnier and lower profile tyres when these ones wear out.

I'll check what size tyres I'm running, but I think I'll have to buy slightly skinnier and lower profile tyres when these ones wear out. Funnily enough my front guards aren't rolled and they have no rubbing issues (that i'm aware of so far) I am using the same width tyre as my 18s so the rubbing on the strut isn't an issue. I'm using a smaller side wall than my 18s though [I was using 235/40/18s now i'm using 235/35/19s] so the overall difference in rolling diameter compared to the 18s is only 2mm - therefore it comes close to the sping seat but as that part of the wheel doesn't move in relation to the strut (spring seat incl) then it isn't an issue. It is rubbing in the back... first it was on the drivers side where the bumper trim screws into the guard. I fixed that (i hope) then it was causing issues on the passenger side - same place over there. I thought i had fixed that but it is still rubbin a bit. I can't work out why as some people are running 245s and 255s on the same rims or similar (same offset) rims and aren't having any rubbing issues!?!? It is annoying to say the least! I have rolled guards and an adjustable panhard rod but with the same offset as the old wheels and only a 2mm difference in overall rolling diameter i wouldn't have thought i would have ended up with so many issues!! FFFAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRKKKKKKKKKKK!! I am guessing it is the extra thickness added from the fibreglass skirt that has been added to the rear bumper (the group 3 section) that is causing most of the dramas. It has made the bumper a bit thicker up in the section where the upper trim screws into the guard therefore makin it more likely to rub. My thoughts, let me know what everyone thinks! Cheers, J

I reckon up the hill cos there is a bit of space, not to say that the dreaded MR2 owners club don't try and force us out. Quote: Do you think he will have room in his car for some tailgate bits? I have Mike's wagon tail lights that we were planning on swapping. Just gave him a call... no answer... will keep ya posted.

Is it a VL or VK centre garnish? All black or grey and black? If it's all black i may be interested... bring it with ya and i will have a look. As for cruising ideas, i'm keen to meet up out Mission Bay way but i'm not although that keen on cruising all the way out to Maraetai - it looks like quite a way! But we can work out where we are going to cruise to later i guess... we could head back over the shore... perhaps Devonport or somewhere - i'm open to ideas.

Is swimming and drinking not the plan anymore? I probably have the same range as Jason. I'm for anything that isn't just driving somewhere and driving back, lol. So drinks somewhere is great, my place isn't so good for that though.. parking can be an issue and my Dad would be a pain in the ass about VLs. (His is apparently going to be back on the road this weekend)

We need a final decision!! If the weather is sh!t i might not be so keen. There won't be much oppotunity to talk to one another if it rains the whole time - do we have a back up weekend if the weather turns to sh!t? 4saken - it'd be sweet if you could bring both along. I'm thinking of removing my calais item and replacing it with a complete black one as it'll match my tail lights better. Later, Jason

so meet up at the Savage Memorial/bastion point at 1pm on sunday for sure?? cuz il have the rims on by then and if im not drunk im keen (as i work that day)...btw/ i spoke to the firestone guys and they were sure my 245/45/19" rims/tyres would fit without rubbing the rears, there only concern was the front struts...im not so sure i think il need to lip the rear guards.

You should definately come along - you can drink on sunday evening... we need as many cars as possible! Plus we all want to see your new wheels now I'm not so sure they will fit without hasstle... I think you will definately need to lip the rear guards! My 235/35/19s are rubbing in the rear so an extra 10mm in width and extra height is bound to give you trouble - depending on what offset the wheels are! But you never know your luck... personally i tend to have sh!t luck when it comes to things like that. Others are running 245s without problems but not me!! So 1pm at Bastian Point? Yes? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah rain will be the problem as mine will mist up instantly and become a pain in the ass. All invited to my place after too, or if it's crap just jet straight over in the afternoon, we'll drink some and talk **** about crap :-) will do some barbecuing so bring some meat or pick some up or something. Mission bay to Devonport is a sweet as idea, let's meet up in the car park up the hill and decide from there Quote: Do you think he will have room in his car for some tailgate bits? I have Mike's wagon tail lights that we were planning on swapping. Yup, Kelvo will bring your bits and youse fallahs can do the swap.
