I agree also, Im Wanting to use the setup also.
MAV you just owned him hard. well done!

20-07-08, 22:53 GMT+10#43 Where did this thread go??? water injection lowers cylinder pressure alot
more than intake temperature. Seeing as cylinder pressure is the thing that
does damage to your bearings and ring lands thats how it makes a engine survive, not the extra octane. This is a HIGHLY PROVEN fact! any crap about octane or whatever you are going about is lost after that fact, what if you pumps run out, get a bloody bigger one, the water isn't there to replace the
fuel?? I still run fat AFR's (mid 11's) and still have no ignition breakdown, you can go leaner if you won't because water coolscombustion pressure more than a little bit more fuel ever will. Its a balancing act, but thats at much higher boost level, you won't have that problem on 26-27psi with a CDI,
only when you start pushing the water rate up and the boost through the roof.
How was your water injection set up?, what fuel/water ratio?
how far did you push it?
Anyone with a half decent car, well pretty much any car thats decent in
the U.S@ U.K , all the tuff supras, all the really tuff evos;s. I mean most american forukms have a whole section on it, its just australia is behind the eightball.
Pleas show me sceintfic reasoning behind the compressor wearing out at 5 microns? I woudn't use water injection as a aid for bad tuning or to cover
up bad parts. I would use it after you have done EVERYTHING to compliment the parts and use them to there full capacity. Done properly you ain't going to have any problems, if a ****head forgets to fill up a bloody water bottle then he deserves to lose a motor, same ****head might forget to put oil in aswell, but a low level light is easy to hook up.
cheers

All i found was pics of a Maroon Calais you were selling that had a T4.
...And a GT45 for sale that had never been used, with threads spanning 10/05 to 3/06? Was this the one that came off your earlier Calais or another?

Pics of GT45 Calais! GT45 ftw!
I getting really sick of having to show pics to wankers who pick EVERYTHING i say. Ive also owned a twin turbo VH V6, VW dune buggy a 308 HJ VL's VH's VB's a VK 6 bikes etc etc ... do i have to show a pic every time some dick head doubt ive owned it or done it ?
This thread is about water injection if you got more to say to me Jack stop wasting everyone else time and PM me !
Ive NEVER doubted have the sh1t you come up with mate, so my suggestion is go do it with somone else.....

Fuel stops you from detonation .. it doesnt make your bottom end last longer or be able to hold more pressure. If your rods, pistons, crank, head gasket let go at 25 psi + 400rwkw then it dont mater what fuel you were running there going to let go ...... octane doesnt relate to how much fucking pressure your engine can take, its only a value given to how much the fuel can take before it pre ignights ...... Tune your car CORRECTLY and you can run 30 psi and still have off boost torque (however i wonder about your education level) water injection dose nothing more than cool the inlet charge and fuck the turbo (if its sprayed into the blades) your not making your bottom end be able to cope with anymore ! your just reducing detonation.... its crude and a cheap + nasty way of doing it ! i dont give 2 fucks if 10000000 people on on here admit to doing it .. its still nasty.
I have had 3 turbo calais ....... i standard T3.... 1 GT45 and one twin cam high flow T3/4... god for somone following my life story your doing a shit job !!
And as for the 10 sec car running 12 stock injectors ?? you cant be serious ..... he got a flat 10 sec engine and was to tight to fork out $500 for some 600cc injectors ??? go back to playing with your lego man, your going to injure yourself with a car
I understand people spraying water on the cooler for dyno runs etc but I dont know ANYONE with a half decent car doing it full time on the street.. makes no sense, is cheap and crude and if you have done your management correctly then there is no reason. The last car I knew of thet had this type of system was a turbo carby XE.....
I ran water on my calais for over 6 months - when I actually stoped being a tight ass and fitted a cooler + management there was no condition where the water was nessacary.
Dead set, you ARE an idiot, I always knew there was something funny about you but this confirms it.
Again, where did I say anything about a bottom end letting go from rods, head or head gaskets etc being the weak link. I simply stated that if you have forged pistons the engine WILL last a bit longer under DETONATION.
But still you were being so single minded and stubborn that you repeated youreself all over AGAIN.
And yes my friends calais ZOO00S did run that time on 12 injectors, tuned with an autronic ecu and in NO WAY is he tight, it's easily one of australias nicest/most respected vls even today.
How is it a cheap and nasty, unproven setup? Again you're being single minded and stubborn, open your eyes fool there are 2 guys in this thread making solid, reliable power! 366rwkw on pump fuel/methanol and an N/A bottom end! (correct me if I'm wrong but has this car not been running with this setup for a couple of years?)
Darrens car making a RELIABLE 470rwkw on pump fuel and WATER.... But nah, this **** ain't proven to work yet.
Tell me more about your 'gt45 calais', it must have been tuff!

Your dead set a fuck head !!!! I keep telling you retard that Im saying water injection shouldnt be rellied on to stop pinging not to not use it all together!!! Im not being biased !!! You brought up bottom end before and I was stating that your bottom end letting go and ping..... ahhh **** it !! seriously your way to fucking stupid to understand. When the **** did I ever talk about taking more with a forged bottom end ? I was trying to stipulate the whole point of not letting the engine ping it was nothing to do with the bvottom end u had. ..... fuck off im going to sleep. byeeee

20-07-08, 23:21 GMT+10#48 I believe it was JPC that pioneered the 12 std vlt injector setup in the very early 90's before aftermarket ecu's were readily available!

any pics of the manifold setup, very interested to see this. Sound great for the early 90s ... not now though.

20-07-08, 23:35 GMT+10#50 Yeah Mark was telling me the other day they ran a 9 with the stock ECU and this injector style set up.
Pics of GT45 please!

20-07-08, 23:40 GMT+10#51 Dont have pics but one of my customers does have one and he was glad to show me it one day when we were talking VLT's.
Basically they weld an injector boss on the bottom of the manifold in each runner. They mount a second fuel rail underneath and I believe they either spliced the injectors or they ran 2 std ecus but one was fuel only. Not totally sure exactly about the computer side of it but he assures me whatever they did back then worked????

20-07-08, 23:44 GMT+10#52 i remember reading about the old crude pressure switch activated extra injectors and the general concences was that it created a flat part of the dyno graph as for a few seconds the engine ran way to rich. Was the introduction to the extra 6 injectors staggered at all or all or nothing ?

and im fairly sure that was with sottis white calais zoo00s, am i correct? its a burgundy/purply colour now
I'll see if i can get a pic of his plenum, it was a low mount jpc plenum with 12 injector spots, if i remember correctly it was 6 on top and 6 on the bottom...

21-07-08, 01:18 GMT+10#56 lol you lot are useless! psiwog whatever you used may have worked well for you no one is disputeing that, also $$$$$ is the other thing not everyone has big $$ to spend, and i agree with most of what you say...... but water/meth inj works, wayback as far as the 1st of truck supercharger,s i have read a book where in like the early 50,s they ran 80 odd psi of boost inriching mixure as it went before coolers ect.....
i have played with it with mixed results and have had 13 turbo cars of all mixed shapes and sizes inc, 3 vl turbo,s this is no attack on you at all.....
just that it words to a degree, obviosly water turns into steam and acts as an anti detonent... and meth makes fuel more rich and prevents it leaning out.
but i have busted a few turbo,s running it into the turbo inlet only takes a bit of water no not atamise and some bad luck and impeller will crap itself ....
it can be a band aid, to a engine stuff up, as metanol turns to gel and can be a little high maitnence..... but water + methanol = cooler temps richer fuel and allow,s you to run more boost no 2 ways about it.... so rather than everyone dissagree just exept that everyone can have there oppinion and take what its work to you and leave it dont get pissed off ..... im on no one,s side here all valid points.....

That comes down to the atomiser(has to be modified) and the filter.
It all comes down to what you use and how you use it. I know a lot of people running around with a atomiser way to big for what they want to achieve and yes it might wear out a comp wheel, its all development and r@D, and notmany have put in those hours.
As for never seeing a car with it, the highest power rotary at summernats last year has a riceracing kit, and runs 28psi and 600rwhp on pump fuel and has done so for a fairly long time..was in zoom not long ago
cheers
