I could of spent half that and done it with shortcuts, but its not worth it.. do things once and do them right is how i see it. cos i plan on keeping car for a very long time Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yea that cortina is pretty crazy, it's definately a budget build That car shows it can be done. It just blows me away when guys spend $40K+ to build a 9sec street car (not including all out show cars) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yes, but that would be $75K all up, inside and out. He is saying he spent the same but just on an engine, box and diff. I personally believe if ITG-05Z spent that on just the driveline for it to run 9s, he was ripped off. But i really want him to clarify what exactly he spent $80K on. The Cortina in the current Zoom proves you don't need to spend ****loads to run quick reliably.

My engine builder does a Procharged V8 package for $30 900 and makes 1000hp on pump fuel. Add in say $5000 for a bullet proof Strange rear end, $700 for a Strange Moly tailshaft and $8000 for a gun transmission. So thats around $45 000 for a bullet proof driveline, that can run 8s in the correct street car and on pump fuel. Man, and you guys have spent almost double on your drive lines. Interesting...

Everyones throwing the dollar amounts around saying that it costs less... wheres the proof? Throw together this with a bit of that which = X $$... then why isnt everyone doing it? The guys that have done it are showing you how much it actually costs but you're not believing them!? Crazy...

People are doing it for less, the Cortina mentioned earlier is a prime example. Remember, the prices people are throwing around is just for DRIVELINE ie engine, gearbox and diff. If it was for a sub 9sec car i would believe it, but these are mid 9sec cars. I believe that it has cost guys say $80K to build a complate show car to run 9s, but just the driveline alone, i reckon they have been ripped, especially as i know how much parts are.

And it seems some people have been charged more for the same thing than others . Which goes back to this point..... I think some of those larger figure's are also accounting for previous blow up's of various bit's, which is throwing off a few people.
