Straight line these things are quick. Real easy to get 4.7 out of too, and will leave stock evos behind on the traffic light grand prix, but show them a corner, and you wont see the evo for dust!

This is just another case of Bull Sh%t we get from our powers at be! Remember the old,If we put your picture on you drivers lience it will take unlienced driver off the road All that did was cost US more for the lience!! So guys do not belive people when they say that radars do not work. By just mentioning this(banning radars)sales dropped off 40% percent. But here's the beuty of it all.It will still be legal to buy them but not legal to use them They plan on phasing them out,Say if you have one and get pulled over you will get a small fine on top of you infringement notice,And then say 6 months down the track of the ban the fine will be a lot bigger. The worst thing here in NZ was the merger of the police and the taffic cop. All it did was tar the police's good name! Now Craig please check with your powers at be, before you make a statement like that. I am not having a dig at you or yours as I would not have your job at all. We have a top notch police force here in NZ as well as the traffic police but hey should let up on the public motorest. And if they want a lower road toll one word, EDUCATION!! Cheers Marty ps that was my 2 cents worth! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Any ideas? hey mate sorry i have been slack on the replying, haha. it is actually a common problem with starters on your type of enging, they are very close to the exhaust, especially with extractors, the starter gets bloody hot there and refuses to work efficiently, (heat soaking) heat wrap the exhaust and make a stainless shroud around the starter. Also get the local sparky to check out the starter, a burnt armature and or field coils can give a similar fault to that, is it an aftermarket reduction drive starter??

nah havnt a problem I was just asking about doing it cause I want to put a dry cell batt and put it in the wheel well not to sure if its legal is this still classed as in the cabin ?

my understanding a dry cell is ok in the cabin just not a wet cell, if you use a wet cell the box has to be 100% sealed but vented outside

Marty, I agree with you on the radar issue, Whenever I have the radar in the car ive always found Im a lot more alert, and I find I dont drive any faster than when I dont have it, They are a very handy tool to have when you meet a speed camera hiding along a passing lane!

However they don't do shit when the cop flicks on his radar and nails you straight away. Most cops use this method these days, and that's probably what Craig was talking about... I have a heat shield and it is a gear reduction starter. It has slowly got worse so Im guessing the starter needs to be reconditioned?

[QUOTE=NZ EVLHSV]Yes they work, I have a Bel that has been really good over the past 5 years. However they don't do shit when the cop flicks on his radar and nails you straight away. Most cops use this method these days, and that's probably what Craig was talking about... Bel and valintine are one of the best brands,Yes they do the on/off routine quite a bit,But remember you will pick that up if he is using that on the cars in front of you. Most people get done becouse they think it as just gone off treat each alert as there is a threat to the motoring public. And black spots nah we do not make much cash there rather be at the bottom of a hill. Also guys remember it is only reminder of your speed it will not save you if you are waaaaaay over the limit. Their other excuse is it will stop the boy racers,HUH!! Most of those guys don't use one,Why would they pay $800- 2.5 k for a radar detector,Dearest one fitted so far was 8.5k it had the blinders fitted as well. I am not for speeding but most of our high ways(main south)and northen you can do above the limit safely, and in certain conditions that is why EDUCATION is the key! yeah thats my rant! Cheers Marty Quote: Originally Posted by calais3L Marty, I agree with you on the radar issue, Whenever I have the radar in the car ive always found Im a lot more alert, and I find I dont drive any faster than when I dont have it, They are a very handy tool to have when you meet a speed camera hiding along a passing lane! I agree with you I find I and more careful and alert in my own car. Also love the speed camera in the passing lane too!NOT!!
