Damn the last few post's you've done with me around have been really bloody stupid, HOT-747 should have got Tool of the year instead of GRK-WPN, Or if he signed up this year, then i already put my vote in.
And I won't do it myself, I'll be getting a professional that knows what to do himself, so i get a 5 year warranty on it all, No bloody way I'm going to go the cheap way when i have no idea about wiring.
I'll also be watching them while they install it, I have nothing else better to do. And they "WILL" install the stuff anywhere i want, After they have given me the quote on how much it will cost too install they have to put the gear where i want it, My uncle just did it himself, a 3 hour job turned into a 6 hour job when he wanted his deck put somewhere that wasn't the original place.
well, i just bought my new car mainly because of the stereo in it... call me a stooge, or whatever you like...

19-02-08, 13:47 GMT+10#42 But it is a VL right?, I love VL's but they ain't worth much unless done up really well...
All i know is I'd never buy a car for the "Extras" in it, you pay more for that than what the actual cars like.
And we starting to get off topic here.... I don't really care if somebody brought a car because of the stereo...

01-03-08, 20:15 GMT+10#47 Hey guys, Since I'm looking at doing it slowely, and will be just getting my head unit, and 4 speakers 2 parcel 2 front door, And not going 6x9 can somebody please tell me how much I'll be looking for good speakers ? I've looked all over strathfield and i can't find much over $100 for the 2, What brands should i look out for? Keep in mind a few weeks later I'll be getting the amp and sub obviously, just not in a real rush at the moment for them 2 things, Being on my L's and all it's good cop bait.
Thanks!

Theres 6" 200w Splits on there for $99, where $199, they are probably the best i can find on their websites..... Keep in mind I'll have around 500 - 600 for the head unit and speakers.

02-03-08, 09:30 GMT+10#48 i woudlnt bother with speakers in the doors, as when you have a passenger inthe car, their legs will muffle the sound, i would get 4" speakers and put them in the stock location, 6" speakers and put them in the rear parcel shelf, and a 10" sub with a small box for the boot

03-03-08, 11:47 GMT+10#49 Ok here is my setup
pair of 6x9s, pair of 6 1/2'' 4ways and a pair of 4'' 2ways in the parcel tray
6 1/2" woofers in the doors with tweeters on the dash and crossovers on the kickpanels
nothing in the stock speaker locations
4 amps
2 12" subs
All when i was on my Ls so dont be afraid to have a big system on your Ls, theres nothing wrong with it and i do have it blasting fullblast constantly

I only want the head unit and 4 speakers for the 600..... And considering i ain't an Audiophile i don't need the "BEST" as I've heard a car with 4 thousand dollar systems in it, yet my dads VX stock speakers sound just as good.
And The most i can find them stupid little round speakers for is $130ish. No offence, But who ever spends $800 on a Head Unit that hasn't even got a dvd screen, You're seriously an Audiophile, Theres barely any difference from a $300 one to the $800 apart from blue tooth. heh
And I'm now thinking of getting a one of these:http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2008/02/na...ordable-2.html (http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2008/02/navisurfer_ii_car_pc_surprisingly_affordable-2.html)
As the head unit, which obviously puts my price up to around $1000....
I won't need CDs, Shove them on the 120gig hard drive, and play away, Let alone it's like a mini PC, No idea what i could use it for, but it will be fun.
Price isn't the biggest problem for me, It's being conventional for my first car, I don't want all this DOOF DOOF crap everybody keeps saying they have. I just want really clear music for now, Because when i do decide to waste $1000 - $2000 on a system it will be later down the track.

Thanks, But what do you mean Stock Location? My stock location is practically on the door on my VR.... And the sub when i get it will be going in the boot but in a custom box that fits the corner so you barely see it, but I ain't getting the sub for a while. I don't need it at the moment.
