Thanks mate. Well I have the calais rear there for it.. But not sure which i like more the std one or the Calais.. Also plan on putting the lower moulds on just need the 2 front gaurd ones. And Need to find a calais grill.
Also got some calais door trims and stuff but the SL interior is in abit better condition. If I find a sandlewood Calais interior Will def grab it.
Oppinions on the rear?
if ur gonna have calais bits go the whole lot, will look alot nicer. front with calais grill, lower door moulds and calais side skirts, rear lights, garnish, and calais surrounds.
nothing i hate more than a sl/berlina rear and calais front. killer set up be a shame to not finish it off with a nice finished shell.
Bit of an update..
After having it on the road for a couple months. Got pulled over on way home from work told to 'pop the bonnet' and was sent straight to d.o.t for inspection. Where I was defected for not having mod plates for anything.. Fair enough.
Got all the mods plated and the defect cleared a month or so later..
Also put on my Vt brakes and put some 'Low' springs in the front to replace the super lows.
Have now also fitted a crank trigger setup, And finally gone to an auto. A full manual JD transmisions built 500rwhp RE4R01A with quicksilver shifter mounted under the factory console.
It has made the car so much nicer to cruise around and should run a half decent time when I eventually get a tune and get it down to the strip..

Havent really dont much with the car. Took it to the drags untuned with some 235 et streets. Ran a 13.265 @106mph. Broke the diff centre on the last run. ( Turns out it was a 25spline diff).
Chucked in my spare 28spline diff. Booked the car in for a tune. As it run the 13 it had 290hp @16psi. We ended up with 388hp on 19-20psi.
Went back to the drags yesterday and ran a best mph of 117, and best time of
12.001 @ 114mph
1.796 60ft
That was the last run before they shut the staging lanes..
Soo close to an 11! So looks like im going to have to head back down and give it another crack lol. ( the strip shuts in a month). This was full street trim apart from the 235 et streets. Also got myself a daily, BF mk2 xr6t.

Good build, nice colour! Should go full calais or put the berlina front back on. Otherwise, good times on the track and sexy bay

So after not doing anything to this thing for a fair while. And no motivation to do anything to it as i have nowhere to use the car.
I've been pretty busy with it the last 6-8 months. With a new drag strip being confirmed up here it got me keen again.
I thought about what engine combo I wanted to go with for a while and I ended up on deciding on going the twin-cam 30 route.
So I've built my self a forged 25/30 for it ( I used a neo head).
Also put some calais lower moulds on which i need to do something with underneath them...
Still need to do run-in tune so I have no figures as yet.

Thanks mate, been following your build, so nice, and great progress. Wish i could make it to PC.
Had a few issues getting it tuned.. Was making less power than the sohc lol.
Got rid of the CAS in favour of a full crank trigger setup, and fitted some camtech 270 9.2mm cams.
Ended up with 420hp @22psi. Boost started to drop off after about 5000rpm, and also injectors were getting up to 85% even after we bumped up the fuel pressure.(660cc injectors afr in the 11's)
Very happy with how it drives, might try to race it like this but future plans are bigger injectors and probably a PT-6466
Just general driving it drives a lot nicer, aircon and all.
Goes a fair bit better than the single cam now, but wont know for sure till i race it. Single used to only just spin 2nd with the auto, now it lights up 2nd and will roll on in 3rd as well.
Still a little bit left in this setup if we tweak how the boost comes on and preload the wastegate a bit more i think. Oh and some injectors
Thanks mate.
For the crank trigger it self I'm using the setup I already had for the sohc engine, its a 24tooth disc mounted to the front of the balancer (between the p/s pulley and balancer) and a reluctor sensor with a bracket off the sump. And for the cam sync i just got the cam part of the kit that hi-octane sell, looks very neat, and that uses a gt101 sensor.
Ran this thing for the first time in 4 years and since i put the dohc in.
Ran a best of 12.2 and 119.8 mph in 34+ degrees heat.. only got 3 runs and didn't stall it up anywhere near enough on the first 2 runs than on the 3rd it spun the et streets (should of let them down more)
Best 60 was a crap 2.14
So considering the rubbish 60ft, temperature on the day and an intercooler that went from 30 up to 50 something degrees on a dyno pull, pretty happy with the base line.
