EDIT: Actually, I think the other colour is a reflection, because it looks so ****ing good! And I forgot to mention, hopefully I'll join the turbo wagon category in the months to come, I should have a spare engine to start building up in a few weeks. And if I get off my ass and sort my other car out/sell it then I'll have all the money I should need.

Yeah.. 'pretty mint'.. quit being so humble and gloat already! If I could some how get a seal like yours that was also squared off then I'd be right there, but unfortunately I'll just have to pack it with some kind of sealer to help stop it from fulling up with all the dirt and **** that holds the water in. Oh I didn't mention my wagon is manual, so after turboing it I'm not sure how long it will be on the road for.. ha. If I want to do the conversion proper, it'll never happen, those spool rods/pistons sure do look nice though Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I want to do a black interior on mine, need to find a whole spare interior the same colour though (leaving a few areas unpainted, and I want to be able to swap it back). I have too many plans huh.. lol. How hard was smoothing your racks off btw? Would you have been able to do it so it didn't have the spines at all?

we just took the chrome strips off and grinded the sharp lips where the screws holding the strips down were and filled the holes with bog for now. to do it right you should take the hood lining out and spot weld the holes then smooth them out as the bog over time and with the movement of the roof will crack and fall out. im planning on a full on respray and color change in a year so i wasnt to fussed ill be doin it right then to get the dash as smooth as it is took alot of sanding and primeing filler then sanding it back and doin that about a dozen times until i was happy with it also helps if you do have a spare dash as you mentioned and the roof without the spines would weaken the roof id say unless you put some sort of reinforceing on the inside and it be just to hard to get the roof lookin rite with it having a slight curve to it

I'd be interested too if it's the car I'm thinking of (by looking at your avatar) but at the same time, if it's that car then I can't afford it Your roof racks were slightly different than mine, I was pretty disappointed 'cause I'm missing one cap off the end of a rail. Hmmm, I'll get a spare dash and slowly get through it then.. can't get over the finish you've got on that. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Let's get back on topic here.. S1KVLs dash is mint I'm in the middle of practicing the technique on some VR-VS doorpods, lets see how well they turn out using ****ty Supercheap Auto prepping products (Top coat won't be so cheap). Seriously, their paint sucks, the cans insist on splattering, even when it's the first time being used. Everything there sucks. EDIT: I just realised you filled in that little groove on the passenger's side of the dash, any reason? Or just for the sake of SMOOTH? I bet you dont have people give you **** for your interior now (people I know whine about the angles and stuff, they don't know what they're talking about) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH dont use spray cans man *slap* it will never be rite use a spray gun but in saying that i do have the advantage of having a brother that has his own paintshop yes i did fill the groove it didnt look rite when i was goin for the smooth dash look and having a silly little groove screwing things up

The groove has never helped me in any way anyway. We have a compressor but it's not set up, and the compressor and guns are likely to be **** too.. I have an uncle (always the way, isn't it?) who owns a paint distribution company so buying the paint shouldn't be a problem. Deciding on what colour though.. there's an issue.
