Thanks guys, If I get time this weekend I'll be putting the bumpers etc back on. It'll be my only chance for about 4 weeks as I'm going on tour with the band on the following wednesday for two weeks. Yay!....and boo Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You colour coding your grille? Or grey?

I've got two. I was going to do one of each, but I'm gonna stick with color coded I think. I only just decided on the brighter silver instead of grey today as well... My plans were to go either MX grey with VL Berlina rear and grey grille, or Asteroid silver, VK Berlina rear and color coded grill. Seeing that MX grey today against the current color just didn't look right I'll probably change my mind 5 more times though lol Then I've got to worry about badges too I've got original, which look great, or do I go GM front and nothing else? I also have the walky style badges, which seem easier to maintain and clean around, plus they're way easier to come by Any thoughts? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Im going colour coded grille aswell...like you say, easy enough to have it apinted if it doesnt look right...im going with the MX Grey, moulds look a treat, so grossy : ) As for badges, I got new Genuine nose cone and all rear badges except the 'Holden' one...got the smaller version...not sure what i'll do there yet but definately using Berlina and Red Turbo badge... Will see...mine will be a while yet, your colour looks great and silver should work well...plus if you go Grey...our cars will start to look too similar...haha.

yeah, I know what you mean....I certainly don't wanna be seen to be copying yours, although it would be a forgivable offence given your cars history/notoriety! Your color seems much more suited to MX grey as well. Will look much more like a fair dinkum Berlina than mine. I had the same problem finding the correct rear Holden badge. Mine is the same small one too although I'm wondering if you walked into holdens and asked for..say a barina badge..if they'd have them, as they look the same from that period. or do they stock all things under the same part number? Like I said, I may still just whack those HSV badges on (nosecone at least) given that it's not going to look really original anyway Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Personally, I like the smaller one. Even though it may not be the correct size, I'll consider using mine Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Progress pics.... Still got heaps to do, adjustments etc. Wasn't real happy with the paint on the bars/mouldings, and I realised today how many screws and stuff I'd mis-placed over time....What the hell screws into the front corner of the top moulds?? I'll have to get back in to it when I get back from Perth. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

wow! really impressed with the attention to detail on this build looking seriously good mate! ps. the corners of the top moulds screw down from underneath, if u get on your back under the front bar and look up with a torch u can see the holes. should just be one screw each corner. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I'm assuming there's some sort of clip as well that it screws into, as the hole looks massive??... Quote: Originally Posted by NSNPWR Front corner of the top moulds? Eh? Explain...Lol. There are usually metal brackets which locate on the corner moulds (for the corner pieces) with a captive nut welded to it so you bolt up from underneath to that bracket...I have them brackets if you need...my aftermarket mould set didnt need them...do you have those black push in lug things under the headlights to locate the moulds?

Cheers man, I went to u-pull it to suss it out.....I'm glad I figured out where those bits went, it's been bugging me for ages! Just needs side moulds put on and a good clean and hand polish now. Then I've got to get to all the brake/diff/clutch/suspension bits sorted.... I've got my work cut out for me Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
