So let me get this strait, you wouldnt use slicks if you didnt have proper suspension setup? Put 2 VL turbos, both making the same amount of power, lets say 350hp at the wheels, both retaining STANDARD rear end, one is using street chasers and the other 28x9" slicks, whos gonna get more traction? i hope this answers your previous question.... i think ANYONE would prefer to use slicks over standard street tyres...
gonna have to agree with VLhero, and yeah of course slicks with standard rear isgoing to be better. but why wouldnt you do the suspension work first, so when the slicks are on you have max traction. and when on the street running, "chasers"
you still get the most because of the suspension setup..
if your running 9's I'd at least invest in some adjustable uppers (like the Macdonalds ones pictured), weld the upper mounts to the body and plate the inside of the car, box the lowers (ITG, your first post highlights this!) and run an adjustable panhard rod!
i think thats all that vl hero is referring to! back off a little!! the above is the minimum you should have, if you can spend 10/15 k on an engine, you can spend a grand getting it to the ground!
Ela-re: you may run into troubles if your going 50 mm each side, thats alot! from memory you only have about 50mm from the lower mount to the axle retainer plate.. you may just be lucky! as for the tubular lower arms, you;ll have to run coilovers with them.. are you tubbing yours?
i asked dom rigoli what rear suspension setup MAXPSI is running, he said all standard except 4 adjustable rear shocks.. from memory doesnt he do 9's? and i know they r different, but i know of sum1 with an rx7 that does 9's also with monroes n king springs without traction problems

Yea i was hoping not to go coil overs but as you say, there isn't much room so i have no choice but to go down that route, but i won't be doing any tub work.
I have rims ready to go and want to use 275/60r15 radials. Just want to drive to the track run good times and drive home. I really have no intention of using slicks, hence why im going through the extra trouble of doing it all. I just want to have a genuine, quick street car...street radials, full exhaust, unleaded fuel. If i was only going to use slicks, i'll just whack them on chasers and while im at it use C16, which more or less for me defeats the purpose of a "street" car
