The ratchet noise is anytime it needs to unlock, so anytime you deviate more than a couple of degrees off a dead straight line. As for donuts, I can sit there with the car pivotting on a front wheel for a long as I want and it will only unlock when I back off. If I want to keep going I just step on it again and it locks back up Oh rightio I think i understand how it works now, So if there is power coming through the tailshaft it locks it up but if no power is going into the diff it unlocks ?? Or more so it only unlocks if the wheels are able to spin free which would be when there is no power going throught the tailshaft..... lol I think I get it still chuck a video or somehting Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah basically, but it only unlocks if your turning. In other words its permanantly locked unless one axle spins faster than the centre, in which case it unlocks. I'll get a video sometime and post it up.

I bought the same brand of lokka for my mq patrol, first set i setup to the specs and lasted 2 weeks and one axle side the dog teeth had rounded and took it back showed opposite lock how it was setup and failed so they got a warranty one (of slightly different design wonder why) and that has now lasted over 2 years on 35" muddies and tonnes of offroad abuse. With the backlash issue they are a pain in the arse for onroad use cos has prob 30 degrees backlash between sides and makes you 4wd lurch back and forward. I had a cig lokka in the same vehicle and was so much more predictable. You will have to learn to not completely back off round corners which also engages the lokka

30 degrees backlash? Mine only has 12 thou. Definitely no lurching going on, and is 100% predicatable as locking/unlocking is totally controlled by how hard you push the accelerator pedal.

Heres a short vid, one wheel jacked up and the other on the ground to show how it unlocks and how loud it is. As you can see its pretty damn loud, nowhere near that loud from inside the car though. I'll get a driving vid next time I drive it and someone is around to hold the camera. Fuck me dead that doesn't sound healthy at all, Sounds like the big wheel at the casino :P People will think you have a completely destroyed diff and then welded and filled it with nails instead of oil :P thats what it sounds like But as a good street/strip diff it Seems like you have got the right setup
