well put, and i'd also like to say your comments in the 'other' thread regarding this were strong as well Russ, for anyone who didn't read it, he pointed out that the organisers seem to be attempting to create some kind of automotive "Cronulla" between the police and would-be attendies of the cruise, and in doing so have completely destroyed any chance of their being a Supercruise 2008.

23-04-07, 14:42 GMT+10#42 yes i read it atmo an i think it was total out of whack comparing a cruise to cronulla its a total diffrent situation. also evan if people here are reading an thinking twice about supercruise theres 100s of other sites that will still go to the gong to werever the destination could be an this event no mtter what wont be stopped because they have been doin this for years an wait for this day from year to year, all of a sudden they want to cut it off its not that easy, im sure 100% if the weather is nice that the gong will be packed the foreshore will go off its a day people can enjoy an get out of the house now just because a minroty of idiots out there stuff it its not fair on the rest to suffer, i think if you get caught doin bad well you better not whinge when you cop it sweet othwersie safe driving for everyone an dont be stupid on the roads.

23-04-07, 16:20 GMT+10#44 some people think that silence on the streets 365 days a year instead of 364 is more important than allowing others one day to enjoy their only passion i guess. Wonderful world we live in.

I'm gonna start a petition against pension day. All those pesnioners are just dangerous on Tuesdays around our my area. They congregate in groups (apparently its 'safer'), annoy others with noise (they have to scream at each other when the batteries run low) and smells (seriously, why is it that they all smell like moth balls), and dont even get me started on their radical Purple hair!
These louts! I cant beleive its legal to be old in this state!
Can you tell I think it's a wank? It's just gonna make the problems worse, and I know i'm gonna crack it at the first cop that comes near me on Anzac day. Anything other than a RBT, video camera's on mate!

23-04-07, 17:04 GMT+10#48 The refusal of the permit is now going to make this an event out of spite, it's gonna happen regardless thats obvious but there will be alot of psuedo car enthusiasts that are out of the loop as to the current circumstances that are going to go the gong out of habit and then the s*&# will hit the fan.
It would probably be worth considering the vacant land outside of shellharbour square as a destination where a local radio station has run many successful charity truck convoys and where i see a few events staged.

23-04-07, 17:24 GMT+10#49 Its a real shame, but thats politics really, a winging resident vs a group of car enthusiasts, car enthusiasts will never win, plus the cops will have to pretend to do something to cover their ass incase any incidents did happen as it would potentially be a media frenzy.
I've been to a few of these and it is usually an incredible day, so many modified vehicles out and about.
