Man open your eyes. VLs have been rusting since they were only a few years old. And yes there will be a few Walkys around with rust in them, but as they are normally treated like babies they dont rust as quickly as most sick VL's like yours and most people on here

only j'k my mate got a vn and it goes pretty good most of them have **** paint like some vl's just turbo it
Heres some pics of a vn me mate made this setup hence the **** welding job he even made the extractors for it, it could handle 7 psi if it went over that it would stall at 2500 rpm
or you could start off with these twin throttle body setups from Mace engerneering for about $1100

12-01-07, 16:10 GMT+10#49 If vn's are so much better than vl's why are you on a vl site? Vn's were sh1t mainly coz of the engines rattly 50yr old buick motors. and nissan would not wanna tarnish there name by placing there engine in such a boat.

12-01-07, 16:15 GMT+10#51 wtf is wrong with you people lol.
and to everyone that ratted out vn's,
1.go and eat a large crank angle sensor ! if you dont have a spare 1 in your glove box then theres not point taking it outa the shed.
2.go and eat a rust sandwich. the dude that said vn's rust ont he roof, it was a paint fault from holden, and shtloads of vl's have crow's feet on the boot / bonnet / roof aswell.
and 3. motor magazine had a section in an old paper stating that vl's where the most poorly built commodore to date. they spent all the money on the model they had just on importing/buying the nissan engine.
i love vl's to death, but im still a big fan of vn's and the mighty v6.
the 1st vn. 88model had a steel crank from factory, and stock they raped the 5.0litres. they had more than their fair share of faults i will admit, but holden had to detune them and remove the steel crank from production so the v8's could still sell. same deal with xr8 and xr6t. detune the 6 to keep the v8 market.
vn's arent a boat anker. vl's are mad. mix them both together. vn v6 turbo hotness!
my 2c . feel free to attack me haha
