Its prob not the hoses that hurt the pocket as it is about 35/m but the fittings, especially ones with bends are about $30 each

Mine 90% complete before the battery wiped it out. Debating whether to redo it in teflon braid as it stinks really bad Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I notice a few people complain about fuel smell. That's why I was thinking of going the under car surge tank with twin 044's.

erm. How do you eliminate the smell with a boot setup? AND who here has a boot setup that DOESN'T STINK of fuel?

you need teflon coated braided hose. And unless you have it, your cabin will smell in any case.

^ Yup that's the only fix for the smell (that I know of). Unfortunately that teflon braid stuff isn't cheap (here in NZ normal braided rubber -6 hose retails for about $50/metre plus gst at enzed, the teflon lined stuff is about 160ish plus gst per metre ) Anyway, here's my boot setup (mounted it in an aluminium box with lid as here in nz it has to be sealed off so no vapours get into the cabin - and i couldn't be bothered welding up all the holes in the rear firewall). Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

This is going to sound extremely amateurish but I'll ask anyway haha Why exactly do people set it up in the boot? Any benefits ect? Thanks

Thanks 2 reasons really. 1) Space. Adding a Surge tank - have to put it somewhere. Most surge tanks have mounting plates at the bottom to be put in the boot. 2) Bling. Pop the boot to see my uber sick fuel system yo.

I use Goodyear ORTAC hose & for the first 6-12 monthes it was ok but then noticed when the car & boot were closed for a while the smell was shocking. When i get a round to it i will replace whats in the boot with Teflon braid. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
