sorry but i have to add it together lol, by what you have given us the total cost is lol $10360, lol i don't think you will get your money back on that VL, but its always good to know how to DIY

23-11-06, 20:10 GMT+10#45 the car talks to me. Im serious. Everytime i take it out it wants to go fast. and sideways. It only sounds good under full boost and driftin sideways. It stops talkin to me when the cops do.
Yea id have to agree. More fines than i can remember and on me 3rd suspension, nearly a divorce. Missus told me to sell it, I told her to get back in her box.
Car never stopped on me. most of the money was wasted on problem solving, eg plugs, leads, pumps, filters.
Horsepower costs money, doesnt matter what breed it is.

Gee ta....all I can say is far-q very much for that.......
Adding that to the original purchase price makes it a $30,000 VL.....before including any money actually spent modding it....... but if I look at it over the time I've had it it's only around $2K a year or 10c a km and that's not bad I suppose.

had a few pop offs (just annoying when cruising)
massive misfiring issues (replaced spark plugs, serviced car, temp sensor, dizzy, etc.. all the little things)
spent about 700 to get it rwc
spent about 300 on uni joints
spent about 300 on fuel pump as it was stuffed not working at all
now have new whining, squeaky noise
also reverse stutters alot and 1st doesn't feel the best, im thinkin auto gearbox rebuilt shortly
ive had it for 3 months and spent about the same money on it as the purchase price.

25-08-07, 18:57 GMT+10#56 Owning a VL is such a financial hardship.
I've spent thousands and thousands, that's all I'll say. My VL is probably 3/4 of the problems that rest in my head.
