lol I picked up my a8 engine in top nick with the head ported (never started since), nizpro cam etc for 1200 ---------- Post added 19-04-12 at 14:37 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by AFG-WPN [View Post] totally agree with you there mate about the n/a motors. but am i missing something here or not........ANGE has stated that he is running 18psi with vlt injecters, i thought vlt injtectors max out at just bit over 14psi? it's either an extra injector, they are not vlt injectors or he has some kind of meth injection. I maxed out my vlt injectors in my first vl 8 or so yrs ago with 15psi and stock t3 on an a8, so I don't see how a highflow on a high comp engine could not be maxed out at 18.. unless its a hiflowed ct10 from a starlet lol ---------- Post added 19-04-12 at 14:39 ---------- oh ****, just realized how old this thread is!

Myns got a hi-comp, hi flow, cam, 660cc, microtech, built auto, 3000 stall, Bosch pump, tuned on 10psi 165kw atw been 2.5yrs still going strong but now I want boost  mechanic told me if I put a bigger cam in it that it'll cop a bit more boost bcos The duration is longer, more air etc is anyone able to confirm?? Also if that's not true I'm gonna rip the head off put a cometic 3mm and screw 16-17psi an see wat happens Daily driven an hard might I add Oh an it ran 13.00 @106mph To be simple will it cop 16-17psi if I put either cometic HG or cam or both??

I disagree - it's got a good fuel supply through it, breathing properly, tuned, and a high flow. Time and time again people make 200rwkw out of less.

Mines a highcomp 300000km n/a motor. Standard n/a casties. Gave it some new rings and bearings in 2007 and 5 years down the track it's still making about 500rwhp 9.9's@134mph.. Who honestly would pay 2000 bucks for a turbo long motor with 200k on it, just because it doesn't have hi comp pistons. LOL Same ****, A6 A8 lol plenty of ways to use a little bit of extra meat on a piston to your advantage Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

NA Motor, good head gasket & bolt ons, big injectors, and and good ecu, will do the trick on a budget. Also, people forget, that bigger camshafts also reduce Comp, due to the overlap in them. think about that Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I have an E bay TO4e on a high comp engine for 6 years driven on weekends. Low boost and a good tune (nistune) and premium and should be oK. Any engine can randomly sh it itself though. I had a mate by a New VE clubby that disintegrated after 2000ks and he had to get a new engine under warranty.

hi comp is all the rage now its very big in the states! when they build there 2js now, its usually minimum 9-9.5cr alot now are going 10-10.5cr as they run e85 all the time my 3lt is prob around the 9-9.2:1 mark my 3.2 stroker will be around 9.2-9.5:1 i would go higher if i actually ordered the pistons instead of getting them for free

Its been said time and time again, its all in the tune. People seem to think that high comping it is the cheap way out, not really as you have to get ECU, injectors, bigger pump, or run higher octane fuel. Low comp seems more of a cheap way out to me.. That being said my race engine is 7.6:1 hahaha
