The car was carrying two people and one had died in the crash, he said.
The major crash investigation unit was at the scene, he said. Ambulances were not called.
The spokesman could not confirm the driver was Mr Brock, although that is being broadcast on Sky News.

PB, was one of Australia's TRUE Legends, i've met him in person myself and can say that honestly, Australia will be a very sombre place for a long time

Not yet confirmed but local radio saying peter brock died in a daytona in the targa west tarmac rally here in west oz...Sad to see.
