I can remember seeing this thing run against victor bray at calder back in the day.You could hardly hear it against the noise of the v8s, they used to call it the whispering assasin!

if someone in a tube car with a tyre big enough say 32x16x15 back it up with a clutchless box and a powerhouse rb26/30 id say a 6 sec pass is very achievable, mind you, youll need the water/air cooler set up,dry sump and 1 mother of a turbine looking into a whopping 45+ psi,it can happen and im sure it will Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Its taken years to get a RB30 into the 8s, I believe it took the Sammut Brothers 18 months to crack the 7s. Sorry if I yawn, but that was 10-15 years ago. And I wont hold my breath for a 6 second pass by a RB30. But hookin. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

And yes, the technology 10-15 years ago, people get excited about 8's in a drag car (fitted with a RB30) of today....your kidding surly i'm more impressed by a street rego'd untubbed vl bomodore running 8's than any fully tubbed factory sponsored race spec car going 7s or 6s or whatever, respect because it was so long ago, but no need to carry on like the fact that sammut did something so long ago means that we should all just stop drag racing vls now because nothing will ever impress YOU more than the 300 did Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Hahahahahahahaha would take a lot to impress me, and why ya would, has me f*cked. O GMFLY did, but then again that was a true street driven RB30. But then again street drive, street regod drag/street cars are open to individuals interpretation. But anyway, people go and pay to watch Top Fuel, Top Alcohol, Top Doorslammer and Top Comp. Thats what impresses not only me, but hundred of thousand of other drag racing fans in Australia. I think it may have a lot to do with the fact they are breaking new ground. In fact I believe Zaps Rat is still the fastest Doorslammer in the world. BTW the thread is about the Sammut Brothers and what they did all that time ago. Hence my comments. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i agree with matty, none of the big name shops have built cars with chassis as wild as the 300zx, so how can we even know "if they could go as fast"? It's all speculation by cynical depressants who just like to try and burst a bubble that popped a long time ago Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Hence the reason I don’t get all excited over people dragging a RB30 when the Sammut Brothers have been there and were in the 7’s many many years ago. Do 7’s with a RB30 10-15 years later, woopy f*ckin do, no matter what kind of drag car body ya strap the RB30 into. Sammut Brothers beat ya to it. I agree with you in a way but these guys had support from others in the game also they were sponsed by Nissan My opinion Sammut Brothers are king when it comes to RB30 they made history

i just wanna know, whats the fastest vl now? say its rajab or brescianni or whatever, they are based on a vl calais that sammut car is based on a 300 zx WITH A FIBERGLASS FRONT no inner guards no nothing, im guessing the whole front panels weigh maybe 10 kilo's? calais eyelids weigh that much, bring down the 1500 kilo rajab car to 900 kilo's and see who is faster!

But at the end of the day, the car is designed as a drag car!?! Just like the fastest VL's of rajab or brescianni or whatever, and they will become lighter to get to the mid 7/6's. I believe they are already using fiberglass panels ect ect... Imagine the 300ZX with carbine fibre, witch wasn't all that excusable 10-15 years ago. But anyway, this thread is about the Sammut brothers 300ZX.

MADWOG u cant compare this car to the rajab car or anything else.... and also this 300zx still holds the record for the fastest rb30 for the last 15yrs or something like that... and its old technology compared to say robs car.....

hrmm on the subject of comparing "legendary" RB cars, altho these 2 wouldnt be in the same league (in way of "worldwide" recognition/legendary status) how about the worlds fastest GTR? which is now held by Heat Treatments NZ 32 GTR? this record came up fairly recently... but how about the record it broke? when did the HKS R33 GTR (which "recently retired") record its quickest time? (etc) some of the parts used on this GTR could be considered "stone-age" and it was a record held for a long time.. oh well, comparisons are fun, and yeah. food for thought lol i really wish HKS fixed the car up and try sum other sh*t, ohwell Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
