Agree'd lol. i know guys with 9 second cars (big dollar big blocks in monaros etc) and theyre always fixing something they broke. now a 308...one of my most favourite engines of all time but starting to get to its limits. i think you wouldnt have to much trouble with your current set up but will mostly run into a lot of problems if you keep trying to squeeze more out of it...parts breaking etc. Great run but...im glad someone on this forum has proven you dont need to spend thousands on strokers to run times.

....how the hell can it do 10s? I had basically all of those things (cam not quite as large) in a car that weighed 1 tonne and went 11.9!
I just cant understand how the hell you get a VK down the quarter in that time with that mildish motor?!

31-07-06, 15:38 GMT+10#48 timbo's old setup ran a 10.80 in his rx4.. standard stroke, vn headed 304.

31-07-06, 15:41 GMT+10#49 RX4s are like 400kg less than a VK though.

31-07-06, 17:09 GMT+10#51 Funnily enough, my mate who built the engine has built the same combos;
but with the 355 stroker crank, and they have only done the same times
after much piss farting around, It definitly has no gas. Would a Rx4 be 400kg lighter once you put a
big diff in it and a v8, probally not.
The vk ran 12.2 at 113mph through the mufflers on 17inch retreads, with the distributor not working probally(wasn't advancing the timing), they fixed that
dropped mufflers, fitted slicks, richened it up and it did plenty 11.2's/11.0's
s and then busted out a 10, all in the same meet.
who knows
darren
I just remebered his own personal car, with B-cast heads ran 11.0 with a
slipping trans in a
LJ with the same cam aswell/standard stroke, he is still spewing the Vk beats it,
but with the track closed he can't beat the time yet.
cheers
