Manulised auto FTW, best of both worlds.

im currently considering both options as im building a 700hp vl turbo. ( im no where near the drive line point of the build tho). its gonna be mainly for shows, dynos, street use on the rare occasion and the drags only when at shows. what would u have an auto or manual? im thinking manual as it would be way more fun?

Manualised auto being best of both worlds is what I have been thinking. But reading through this thread and it saying that they are **** driving through the hills and twisties? If there **** for roads like that then I will go manual.

I decided to go with auto. I want to use the car as a daily and get sick of going through the gears all day long and wouldnt want to drive with a brick of a clutch. If i wanted to boot around in the hills, i would buy a skyline. Otherwise street i would go an auto/shiftkit/stally If the cars making enough power, why would you need the clutch to have fun skid wise.

Looking at getting a stalled up fully manualized auto for my car. Will be pushing 300KW, done some searching, and been told that Paul at KEAS is the man to talk to. Is he still around? Sorry to hijack the thread haha

Yeah I'm going to go auto. Going to talk to the local auto place to see what they can do with the 4 speed. I don't like the 1st-2nd gearing of a powerglide. And want to maintain the overdrive also. I know an auto will do skids easy lol.

I have a manual and cant see myself going auto ever. You can pretty much get any manual rwd car sideways with just a simple clutch kick in 1st or 2nd no matter how much power it has. As for auto sideways action can only be achieved with some decent power behind it. My car is for the street so i prefer manual. Even if i had a pure drag/strip car i would still keep it manual its just so much more entertaining. Everyone to there own i guess. As for which gear box is faster, on a standing start an auto will win unless there is a race car driver behind the wheel of the manual, but on a rolling start a manual would smash an auto every single time. This thread seperates the boys from the men . Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

why would you have a pure drag car as a manual just to run slower?it doesnt make sence lol.. as for the rolling start race ive never seen a manual smash my vl when it was auto

yeah ur right it would be slower down the quarter but i dont enjoy just mashing the pedal and hoping for the best. Mate a manual hits boost so much harder than autos do ill give u a run if you like just to show u lol 2nd and 3rd gear are all over the shop

Come on, i reckon manual is the way if you know how to handle it, we all know the Auto/manualised auto is easier so i agree with above 'it seperates the men from the boys'
